Thirty-four Other Marks of False Ministers:

 

1.     They lead people away from God (Deut. 13:1-5).

2.     They speak presumptuously (Deut. 18:20).

3.     They propagate errors (Proverbs 19:27; Isaiah 3:12; Jeremiah 23:32).

4.     They have no sense of righteousness (Isaiah 5:20; Jeremiah 11; Jeremiah 14; Jeremiah 32).

5.     They are destitute of light (Isaiah 8:19-20).

6.     They teach lies (Isaiah 9:14-16).

7.     They live like sinners (Isaiah 28:7).

8.     They are ignorant of spiritual things (Isaiah 29:10-11; Isaiah 56:10-12; Jeremiah 2:8; Hosea 4:6).

9.     They compromise truth (Isaiah 30:10).

10.   They are greedy and lazy (Isaiah 56:10-12).

11.   They deal falsely (Jeremiah 6:13; Ezekiel 22:27).

12.   They do not pray (Jeremiah 10:21).

13.   They destroy and scatter (Jeremiah 12:10; Jeremiah 23:1).

14.   They preach lies (Jeremiah 14:13-16).

15.   They commit adultery (Jeremiah 23:14).

16.   They encourage sin (Jeremiah 23:14; Ezekiel 13:22).

17.   They are deceitful (Jeremiah 48:10; Ezekiel 13:10; Romans 16:18; Ephes. 4:14; Col. 2:4-8; 2 Tim. 3:6-13).

18.   They are sinful (Ezekiel 22:25-28).

19.   They are liars (Jeremiah 23:14; Ezekiel 13:19-22).

20.   They are selfish (Ezekiel 34:2-3).

21.   They are unfaithful (Ezekiel 34:4-10).

22.   They are covetous (Micah 3:11).

23.   They teach doctrines of man (Matthew 15:9).

24.   They work iniquity (Matthew 7:15-23).

25.   They are blind (Matthew 15:14).

26.   They cause divisions (Romans 16:17; 1 Cor. 11:18; Phil. 1:15-16).

27.   They corrupt truth (2 Cor. 2:17).

28.   They teach docrines of devils (1 Tim. 4).

29.   They have a seared conscience (1 Tim. 4:2).

30.   They are proud and perverse (1 Tim. 6:3-21; 2 Tim. 2:14-18; Titus 1:10-14).

31.   They teach damnable heresies (2 Peter 2:1; 2 John 1:7-11).

32.   They deny Christ (2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1-6).

33.   They are consecrated to destroy the Christian faith (2 Peter 2:1-19; Jude 1:4-11).

34.   They are hypocrites (notes on Matthew 7:15; Matthew 23:1-33; Luke 11:35).
