read the scriptures. any pagans that refered to another as god...it was always "god" with a small "g"
but with thomas why did the kjv writers put captial "g" with thomas's statement? [jazz]
Jazz, and you say your church teaches children on their own level....wonder how they could teach you on a level low enough for you to understand? I am sure the youngest child in your church has better understanding capacity than you do.
Now the reason a capital G was used when speaking about Jesus is because Jesus is one with the true and living God. Jesus is not some idol god. Jesus is now seated on the very throne [power] of God, the eternal and true God.
When the Father said in Heb. 1, for us to now worship his Son and honour his Son even as we honour Him [God], it means the true God, not some idol.
Jesus is now both our Lord [head] and our God [ the one we worship]. But did you know that the Father is the Lord and the God of Jesus?
Jesus was not born as God. He is still not God in his own personal being. He is God because God set him there to be worshipped as God. God gave to His Son all the very same power and authority which God has. So Jesus is there now ruling the same as God. they are ONE. But then we are ONE. It means they are in perfect harmony. BUT JESUS IS STILL A HUMAN MAN, ONLY GLORIFIED, AS WE WILL BE SOMEDAY.
My, my. But I am sure all of this is too far above your head for you to grasp any of it and gleam even one tiny bit of Food from it. You are starving. You are perishing while, the table is set with all manner of glorious, eternal-life-giving FOOD.
But you cannot eat of it. It is the same way as when those men saw the meal sell but could not eat of it.
