1Chronicles 28: 2. Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: 3. But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.
| | I read this a few nights ago and to me it is profound. David said, I wanted to build an house of R E S T. A house of REST for the ark of the covenant of the Lord,.. AND for the FOOTSTOOL of our God. I would really love to hear any ideas or discussion any of you might have on this. I have not at this time really studied it out... just think it is hiding something wonderful here. And the thing about David could not be the one to 'build' the house of REST, because he had shed blood........ any thoughts? Let's see if we can uncover it. | | |

Ac 7:49 - Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? - 7:50
- Hath not my hand made all these things?
| - 7:51
- Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye
Plainly showing that the rest they resisted was the Holy Ghost

I just looked back at this and immediately saw something in it. (amazing how the things you learn as you go opens up things you could not see before). Now Since David was an OT person, and they had all slain many animals as blood sacrifices to God, and since God has never at any time required or accepted these animal's blood, none of them could prepare a 'resting' place for God. This 'resting' place is to be in the HEARTS of the people of FAITH. Only those of us who serve God by Grace and FAITH can ever prepare our hearts as a rest place for God. It shows that the OT covenant was never a PLACE OF REST. Only the HOLY GHOST can give true REST. So God cannot rest in the hearts of those of LAW. Our 'spiritual' house of a holy body of faith is the only place of rest for God. It is the only place of rest He will ever accept and take up His abode in us. |

Jesus is the one who built the true 'HOUSE' of REST for God. His HOUSE is not an outward, or earthly type building. It is a SPIRITUAL house, made up of the many members of His true Body, the Holy Ghost filled Saints. |

God just gave me this: All the churches are still trying to build an outward, or stone building as a resting place for God. They make the same mistake David made.....thinking God dwells in a house made with men's hands. so they spend their time, effort and money attempting to build God a house. It is a total waste of time, effort and money, for God does not dwell in houses made with men's hands. so this clearly places all these churches in the same catagory with the OT tabernacle. it was never accepted by God. It is not God's place of REST. |

Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his HOUSE. | For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the HOUSE hath more honour than the HOUSE. | For every HOUSE is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

And Moses verily was faithful in all his HOUSE, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; | But Christ as a son over his own HOUSE; whose HOUSE are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the HOUSE of Israel and with the HOUSE of Judah:

For this is the covenant that I will make with the HOUSE of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. | Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, | By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; | And having an high priest over the house of God; | See this one proves that the true 'HOUSE' of God is the saints who have their sins washed away by the blood of Jesus. So Jesus was the building of the true house of rest for God. |

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his HOUSE; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. | See here that Noah actually started this house of faith. It was his family as they moved with fear and obeyed God in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation of idol worshippers. so our house of rest is to be our faith as we obey God today. |
