I have been looking at some passages in Ecclesiastes and found some  very interesting things which I would like to bring out.  Also, if any of you wish to get into this study of Ecclesiates, please do so.  It is not really a study of the book;  just bringing out some few points.

One must realize that Solomon is speaking from the standpoint of the human flesh in most of this book.  If one tries to interpret it from some other outlook, it will throw you into false understanding.  This has happened to some of the major religious moves of today.

Cp. 2: Solomon gets into seeking to know both wisdom and folly.  Now, I have never heard anyone else say this; that they see that much of what he said here is what he found folly to be.  They try to teach it all as God's truth. It is God's truth that much of it is folly.

He lays out his personal greatness as a king here; how he got unto himself anything His heart could desire.  But all this did not satisfy him.  He speaks of his great wisdom.  But look at this:

v14--The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.

He is looking at the flesh --- in the flesh, one thing happens to all - whether they are wise or a fool.

v15--Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me;  and why was I then more wise?  Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.

See, for all Solomon's wisdom, fleshly wisdom,  it happened to him as it happens to a fool ---- what is this that happened to him as a fool?

He turned his back on God in his old age and went and worshipped idols with his heathen wives.

So, as a fool, he betrayed God.  So by this he found out that his wisdom was no more than any fools.

Jo

Ecc. 4:5--The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.

 **********************

To me, this is a profound statement.  Just think about this for a minute.

Jesus said,  Unless you  EAT  MY  FLESH  and drink my blood,  you have no life in you. so  His Life, His flesh,  is his words which we must  EAT, or take into ourselves, in order to have life.

Rev. 17: 16--and the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall  EAT  HER  FLESH, and burn her with fire.

Now, here we have three different statements about eating  FLESH;;  which clearly does NOT  PERTAIN  TO NATURAL FOOD.

If we EAT  Jesus'  FLESH;  and this = eating His words-- to have eternal life ---

then the ten horns  EAT  the  FLESH  of the whore church,  and they are obviously on the beast kingdom ---- lost...

Then look at Ecc.  The  FOOL (the fool said in his heart, there is no God)- folds his hands together = does not labour or study to get into the truth of God's word ---- they are NOT   EATING  JESUS'  FLESH.

So, in their slothful ways, they end up eating their own FLESH = eating or believing their own thoughts or doctrine.  So this is the same as eating the flesh of the whore ;;;;;;  for Jesus said if you are not for him, you are against Him.  If you are not gathering,  you are scattering.

You either  EAT  HIS  FLESH;  OR YOU EAT YOUR OWN FLESH.

IF YOU DO THIS, YOU ARE A FOOL.   SO THIS SCRIPTURE SHOWS THAT ALL WHO ARE NOT ACTIVILY EATING OR STUDYING  JESUS' WORDS,  ARE EATING THEIR OWN, OR THE WHORES'  WHICH LEADS TO ETERNAL DAMNATION.
