Makeup Musts 1. Double up on bronzer. Use your fingertips to apply a light coat of liquid bronzer all over your face, then apply a light second coat (of the same bronzer) only along the jawline, blending it down the neck and under the cheekbones, says Gafni. Since a darker color makes these areas recede, it's a great way to sculpt instant cheekbones.
2. Make your eyes pop. The bigger your eyes look, the more petite your face seems. Apply a neutral shimmer to the inner corners of the eyes. Next glide a dark brown, gray or black pencil liner across the entire upper lash line. Skip liner on the bottom lash line; it'll make your eyes look smaller. Curl eyelashes and apply two coats of volumizing black mascara.
3. Fill in your brows. "If you have a full face, thickening your eyebrows will make them take up more space and will slim your face," says Gafni. The Rx for skimpy brows: Use a brow pencil or shadow one shade lighter than your eyebrow color to pencil in the brows all the way to the end of the brow line.
4. Drizzle oil on your legs. Get slim, sexy gams by blending a thin line of body oil or highlighting cream right down the center of the front of your legs. Highlighting this bony part plays up the vertical line and makes your whole leg look lithe.
5. Elongate short fingers. This nail polish tip from Redbook's beauty director, Cheryl Kramer, will make your fingers and nails appear longer: Paint your favorite shade down the center of the nail and leave a little space on either side.
6. Add some shimmer. Strategically apply a translucent shimmer powder or cream with your fingertips along your cheekbones and collarbone. Highlighting bone structure reflects light, making it more noticeable (thus making you look thinner).
7. Go faux tanning. It's not your imagination: You do look slimmer after a week at the beach. So a few hours before going out, exfoliate with a body scrub, then smooth on a self-tanner. Or take a cue from stars like Jessica Simpson, who almost always gets a spray-tan treatment before big events.
