This day started with the usual getting up and starting the fire to chase away the morning chill. I felt a bit meloncholy as I knew my children were all doing their own new things in their own homes and I sent them a special blessing as I looked into the flames of the new fire. "Goddess, be with each of them this day and let them continue to know how wonderful this time of year is in the rest before the dawn."
I busied myself with the morning chores and tried to figure out what I would do today to apease my own mother that has insisted that I attend the Christmas dinner at her place. Again I called on the Goddess to give me the words and patience with her as she just does not understand our beliefs..and I do not expect her to as she is a very devout christian and fears the thought of even bringing up anything..I will honor that and let her know the special love of the Goddess reflecting through me.
I made some cranberry bread and as I mixed it up and baked it, I put magick of the Yule blessings in each ingrediant and stirred it in. As the aroma permiated the air from the baking food, I knew that this bessing was for all that would partake it. I cut it and arranged it on a little platter that depicted the Yule Log tradition...One that mother would not even know the true meaning of. "Bless her Goddess and thank you for the peace that has been within me all day."
Kellie called and shared how many goodies she and the boys were showered with...I am happy that she is happy, but at the same time, in the back of my mind, I am a little sad that it is all about what can be gotten and how really material the world has become. I hope that it will not always be like that.
I am determined to keep my plan to try to lose some weight this week as I really moniter closely, all that I eat. and that I may be able to do some daily exercise..I hope others here in Chambers will join me in this little quest this week.
I am glad you are here, Chambers...It is so quiet as the sun sinks and is slowly retiring this day. Soon the moon will be shining and the power of the full moon energywill bathe the sleeping earth and all that she cares for. Blessings to all that may read this .
