Herbal Bath Recipes

Common Application and Usage:

Use 6-12 drops of essential oil to bathtub full of water. If preferred,
mix the essential oils with 1 tablespoon of base carrier oil before
adding to bath.

Better still massage yourself with the oil before entering the bath.
Good base carrier oils for aromatherapy are sweet almond oil, jojoba oil as they will nourish and soften the skin. Making batches of these, and bottling decoratively is perfect for gift giving!

Relaxation Bath
Use relaxing and calming oils such as bergamot, cedarwood, chamomile, frankincense and lavender, marjoram, neroli, rose, sandalwood, ylang ylang. lavender and marjoram are particularly useful if you are having problems sleeping at night. If you are frazzled after a hard day, unwind before going to bed in a hot bath to prepare for a restful night's sleep. Create a peaceful ambiance with candlelight and soft music. Support your head on a bath pillow or a rolled up towel and close your eyes and inhale. Concentrate on your breathing and empty your mind of worries. the therapeutic properties of the essential oils will soothe away your stress. After 15-20 minutes, emerge relaxed and wrap yourself in a large warm towel.
