It was long after Jesus' birth that the wisemen arrive. You are correct. We don't know how many there were, but they came to a house, and was referred to as a child. Also, Herod killed all those under the age of two, after diligently as to when He was born. By tradition, I always believed Satan was previously an archangel. However, when I tried to find Scripture to back it up, it wasn't there. The closest you can come to it is where it says that Satan transformed himself into an angel of light. If he transformed himself, it means that was not his original state. He was a Cherub. That is not the same as an angel. Read the description of an angel and a cherub, I believe you will agree. You can only make them equal by assumption that they both exist in Heaven.
As far as angels singing....I don't find it anywhere except the gospel according to Hallmark and hymnody.
