Sometimes when you open a file on your computer, windows will popup a window and ask you what program you want to use to open that file type. If you notice there is an option at the bottom of the screen that says "Always use this program to open this file type." Well if you want to change the program associated with any particular file type, here is how. This should work on any windows based machine.

Go to start>>settings>>control panel>>FOLDER OPTIONS

Click on the File Types tab.

Find the file type you want to modify. For example, if you want to associate your JPEG files to a different photo program, find and highlight JPEG in the list. Once you highlight the file, you will see "details for JPEG extension". It will say "opens with..." To change which program it opens with click "change". In the list of programs, choose the program you want to associate with your JPEG files. If you dont see the program you want in the list, you can select browse on that same screen. After you select your program, select Ok and close.
