II Corn.6:14-18
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you.
As we read through the Word of God, we find many references to being separate from the world. God has told us plainly as believers we must come out from among the evil, careless, Godless ways of this world.
Some events and situations don't appear at first glance to be evil or anti God at all. When we look at it from God's point of view, we get a bigger picture of just how sneaky the ways of the world creep in, quietly and undetected in the lives of born again Christians.
Whenever Israel came across aland with different peoples God told them not to take the women of the land for their wives as well as the women not to take their men for husbands. People from different nationalities have many different customs. They worship all types of things such as the sun, moon, planets, animals and statues and the like. Also some men worshipped other men and their ideas and philosophies.
Not only are their customs different, but the most dangerous part is that their religions teach many things that are contrary to the Word of God. Slowly but surely false teachings from pagan people and their cultures start creeping in and then comes confusion and we wonder why our people are so mixed up, especially our children. It's time we make a stand and say enough is enough and quit being cowardly and stand up for the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word.
God's people are to be a peculiar people, we are a particular treasure. That means we are:
(a) A prized possession
(b) A particular treasure
(c) We are in Close ownership
(d) Particulary one's own
It's a wonderful thing to know that we as sinners saved by God's grace, doing things contrary to the will of God, God lives us, His particular treasure, choosen before the foundations of the world to be His prizes possession.
We are to be sanctified. Learn what this word means and hold it close to your heart. Etch it in and never forget it. it means to be set aside, apart from a secular way of life for a sacred purpose.
Ever wondered why the church seemingly has no power today. Well, if we'll quit fooling around with the carnality that is so prevelent today we could have the same power the early church did.
We have allowed satan and demonic influence come into our homes, personal lives, schools, jobs and government. We've allowed that liberal crowd in our land to raisr their ugly heads and not kept them out. We've cowered down to the agnostic and the atheist and God haters. It hasn't been that long ago that this crowd would not even attempted to raise their heads toward the church and it's people.We need to get back to the old landkarks and old pathways that are laid down in God's Word. It's time to stop playing church and turn back to God.Look here now:
(a) Business person,Don't have an unsaved partner. They may have a bad reputation.
(b) Mate, Saved people need to marry saved people, not the lost
(c) Gambling, We shouldn't go to places like Vegas, Atlantic City, Cherokee,N.C., and if you do go, please stay out of the gambling halls.
(d) Companies, what do they promote or support. They're many, many companies that promote all types of ungodly things. Try not to deal with these folks. I know it's sometimes hard because they own smaller companies. Whenever possible, when it's well known waht they do is not good, don't trade there.
(e) Don't support sodomy(so called gays). Speak out
(f) Abortion, don't support the murder of infants in their mother's womb
(g) D iscipline, Correct your children. Companies and executives and management have noticed lack of discipline. Think about when our children see us late for church, work or important meetings. What does that teach them?
(h) Home, what do we look at on t.v.? What about the magazines, books, music clothes or lack of clothes we wear.
(i) Word, watch our language. Is it pleasing to the Lord?
(j) Clubs, we should not belong to any club that has secret vows and carries on in ungodly manners and say some God insulting prayer to the God of Heaven then act like a bunch of heathens. They appear to be great on the surface,BUT.
Wrong things bring divine wrath, willful sinning and unprofitable service to God. God will not use an unclean vessel to it's fullest extent.
Without holiness, no man shall see God. Are we for sale or are we sold out for the Lord. How are we suppose to win the lost if they see no difference. Repent today, come to God just as you are all spotted and dirty because of the sin that so easily beset us. God loves you, He died for you, He took your place and mine. He was our sacrifice. He'll save you if you'll just turn to Him.
