Repentance
Acts 3:17-19
Text 19

The word repent is a word in our day that I strongly believe in most hated and rejected even by most Christians of our day and surelt from a lost person, the one that doesn't know Christ as personal Savior. The altter is to be understood for if they haven't been saved then it means nothing to them but for this to be said of the Christian is unexcusable.
The church does't like it for it points at their failures in their service to God, the failures in their personal lives, and all this is revealed in the Word of God. The Word of God is like a mirror so to speak to which we can get a reflection of just where we're at in Christ.
The lost don't like it for it s like a chain or an obstacle that stands in their way and it points them to their lost condition, in need of a Savior but they would rather live in their sins and take the chance that they might get saved in the time of their own choosing. I can assure you dear lost friend that it doesn't work that way. A oerson will get saved on God's time table and His only.
Now there are many chapters and verse that tell men to repent. Especially the one in Luke 13:3&5 and Acts 17:30 and Acts 26:20. If one will look closely at all these verses as well as many others it isn't hard to see that the word "ALL", whether the Bible speaks to the religious crowd or the lost the word still means "ALL".
So, looking back at Acts 3:19 and where it says be converted, in other words one needs to be saved and then God will blot out your sins and will cast them into the sea and one can start life anew. He will take all of our shameful past all the sinful acts and deeds of the selfwill and blot them out, treat hem as if they were never done and will remember them no more, Micah 7:19.
When the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the LORD: Oh what a great and precious statement from God's Word. Just to know that like when Christ was that "ROCK" that followed Israel through the wilderness and He gave refreshing "Living Water" to a dry and thirsty people and also in the spiritual realm gives life giving water to a dry and thirsty souls where that "Living Water" springs continually.
Just as bread gives nurishment for the physical body the "Bread of Life" will satisfy the hungry soul and they will never hunger any more.
When one gets saved the Word of God will become alive. It will not be just a book with some words but these same words that weren't understood before will become that which is alive and will bring that refreshing to the soul.
The words mercy and grace will be refreshing to the soul also. God is so merciful to us and especially to the lost. He is allowing the lost person to have one more chance to respond to the gospel message and not be in hell. Merciful the saved person by allowing them one more opportunity to fully follow Him in complete obedience and not have to remove one of His children from this life because of rebellion.
That refreshing brings life that is so much more enjoyable and worth living. Your attitude, actions and thoughts will be so much more meaningful. Oh the joy of it all just to repent, be converted and receive refreshing from the presence of the LORD in one's life.
Evangelist Stephen Blan
