Does God Hear Me
John 9:31-38
Text 31

We hear a lot today about faith. There is a lot of talk about religion and what their so called ideals bring to an individual. There are so many religions as the secular refers to them as but what or who do they pray and does their religious leader hear them? So many religions ask the people to do something in the name of their religion and I can assure you that their works and deeds are useless.
The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8 that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works lest any man should boast. We cannot do anything to gain favor with God other than just simply trusting in the LORD Jesus Christ.
So as man comes face to face with His Redeemer he has to come to grips that perhaps whatever religious faith they have, that is wasn't sufficient but the One they will stand before one day was and is all sufficient to meet their every need. Just as a side message hear I absolutely despise the word "religion". Christianity "IS NOT" a religion. It is a way of life and it absolutely is alive and has it's being in none other than the the LORD Jesus.
So what about this text verse. There are at least two very important truths in this one verse alone that shoots a hole in all other religions and so called faiths. Also the religious crowd would be confronted about their being religious and their traditions and their bragging about being Moses disciples.
(1) God hearth not sinners: For all have sinned and all fall short of the glory of God. Only after salvation are we reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. So this first statement is so true, especially of this religious crowd for they weren't saved. We all still sin for we're siners by nature but the saved by grace are children of the King and are saints in the eyes of the LORD and we belong to Him by His sacrificial death that day at Calvary and by His glorious bodily resurrection when we come to Him by faith beliving.
(2) Any man be a worshipper of God: So what is a worshipper? Well, one that has forsaken the things of this world and their life is totally sold out to God and totally putting God and His will and ways before their own. One who adores and praises God and His sovernity above all else. Puts God number one in their lives. More than fame, fortune, traditions, rituals, belongings, wife, husband, children their entire family and of course themselves. When we come before God with nothing but empty hands also the attitude of thanksgiving and praise and they place God as their all in all. So are you a worshipper?
(3) Doeth His will: Are we doing God's will or are we following our own agenda, our own pre- conceived thoughts and notions? Are we going about the Father's business such as giving unselfishly helping those in need, tithing, witnessing, being a part of a local assembly that is Christ centered, walking, talking, and dressing like children of God? Are we preaching, teaching, loving, doing whatever the LORD has told you to do or are we just giving Him a lot of lip service?
So in closing, we need to reflect and ask ourselves are we truly being a worshipper, and a doer of His will? Do we adore the LORD God above all other things? Are we actually doing the will of God or just our own fleshly whims and wishes? We all need to repent of something, leave off more of ourselves and take on more of the likeness of Christ and look and act more like THE GOD we are suppose to represent to a lost and dying world.
God does not hear us if we are not born again. You can pray all you want but your prayers are getting no higher than the ceiling. He always hears everyone but unless you're born again He absolutely doesn't have to give heed to your request. He is under no obligation to do one thing for you for if one is not born again, that one is of their father the devil.
Evangelist Stephen Blan
