The family altar seems to be a thing entirely eliminated from the home in these latter days. God has always blessed the home where parents and children gather once a day to read the Bible and pray in one accord.
A drunken, cursing father and a cigarette smoking mother educated by moving pictures, so called funny books,a.k.a. comic books and the such seem to be all too common in homes today, while our detention homes are full.
Children who are brought up into this world unwanted and uncared for are denied the greatest blessing a child could have, a praying, Christian father and mother parents who are with their children in Sunday School and church on Sunday.
There are some parents who won't take the time to take their children to the house of the LORD. They have worked hard all week and say they are just too tired to go to Sunday School and church. Yet they can play golf or go fishing on the LORD's day while their children for the most part go through life knowing little or anything about salvation.
Parents, don't wait until you are looking down on them in a casket and weep because they may be walking the blistering corridors of Hell.
Please take you children to church and let them learn of the wonderful Savior, Christ Jesus the Lord who loved them enough as well as all the rest of us to die in their's and our places to make an atonement for their sins as well as the whole world. Then He arose the third day victorious over death and the grave.
Proverbs22:6
Joseph A. Imler
