Proverbs 22:6
Christians ought to talk like Christians with good things about Christ and the Bible and soul winning and good Christian reading, good articles, Gospel tracts, and such as would help to lift up and encourage others to live a Christian life. A Christians talk and actions should manifest kindness, love and an earnest effort to win souls instead of being critical, wordly and quarrelsome.
Christians ought to dress like Christians. Christians ought not to be immodest and half naked like the lustful world around them. We as Christians should be so unspotted from the world that if someone needs us to pray for them or help lead them to Christ they would know us by our appearance as Bible Christians.
Neither should you dress your children after the fashions of the world. Think of the pain and heartaches, the sorrow, their characters ruined and the unhappy marriages, the untimely deaths and the woe that is brought about on account of pride and insufficient clothing.
Christians ought to be concerned about the lost, whether they are your own relatives and friends or your neighbors or your enemies. If you do not do something about getting the word of salvation to them, then who will? What better and cheaper way can you get the Gospel to the lost and discouraged than to subscribe to a good Christian magazines as long as they're solidly biblically based with the old time gospel message.
Christians ought to read like Christians instead of always reading only the local newspaper telling how many murders, how many accidents, how many divorces, how many deaths etc..., doesn't get much spiritual encouragement from this type of reading all the time.
A Christian should read God's Holy Word, THE Bible, and other good Christian literature. By reading these we will receive inspiring thoughts from God and God's men, we will learn how wonderful Heaven is and just how truly awful hell is. We will receive the wonderful news of a sinner being saved from sin and cleansed by the precious blood of Christ.
A Christians breath ought to smell like a Christians' instead of like tobacco or a spittoon or the burning of garbage. Their breath should not smell like a distillery or some long spoiled fruit or corn.
Christians ought to work like Christians, an honest days pay for an honest days work with their main point in view that would honor the LORD.
Christians ought to pay their debts like Christains, make no more debts than they are able to handle, keep their renewals paid up upon what ever it may be.
Christians ought to be careful what they listen to, so they will not pollute their minds with words and thoughts that may be harmful to their soul. This is good for their own as well as their neighbors especially when you claim to be Christian.
Christains ought to give of their time, resources and talents and yes their money also. |
