Separation; Still Biblical

Hebrews 12:14
The old fashion radical holiness crowd is no longer liked. The devil is deceiving and we are making the way much more broader on what we can and cannot do and what right and wrong really are. We don’t want that reproach or narrow living that goes along with self denial and holy living, no we just can’t have that too much.
It seems we a trying to see how close we can get to the world instead of seeing how far away we can stay from it.
One day the wishy- washy namby-pamby crowd which includes preachers, church members will wake up in judgment far short of what God expected of them and will fall, far short of the rewards God had intended for them. Such an awful thing to realize that one day these baby Christians will face the Creator Himself and hang their head in shame with nothing to place at the feet of the One who died for them and took their place at Calvary.
Thank God we do still have some old fashion preachers that are still holding the line and standing on the wall with their sword in one hand and the cement trowel in the other.
While it’s true at times these old fashion ones will from time to time loose folks, still, even through all the strictness, I believe the attitude of the believer is what the real problem is.
God still demands separation regardless whether we like it or not. WE shall not compromise the Word of God by His grace and authority we won’t give into the popular idea.
Separation can mean separation in our deeds. WE must do things differently than the world. WE shall not defraud the government even though for the most part it is corrupt not very efficient. Also neither our brother or sister. We shall not lie, cheat or steal to cover up anything in our lives.
We as holy people should be different in the way we act. We shall not go to the extreme of riot nor indulge in the things that do not edify or uplift the Lord or one another. If we are not different than this pleasure seeking, cursing, blaspheming, drinking, smoking adulteress crowd then we are not going to be the witness and soul winner that we need to be.
We should be different in the way we dress and present ourselves to a lost and dying world of lost folks. I’m not speaking of the way they dressed in the 1700-1800 hundreds but we should be very careful. Dressing modestly and holy looking and also soberly is very important. There are plenty of decent looking clothes for us to wear without showing our bodies. Sleeveless, plunging necklines, sheer blouses and shirts, tight fitting jeans and baggy, low cut pants where the guys show their drawers and backside and the shirts that the men wear should not come open where their one chest hair shows (he-he).
If you’re an evangelist, pastor or any other type preacher we should lift up our voices against the immodesty of our day. Deep spiritual life has no part in the world of immodest dress, excessive jewelry, gold rings, and bracelets (men and women).
I know some will say we’re too legalistic in this area but I would say to you where in the Bible does it say that we are not to be different than the rest of the world. It seems to me that the very ones who say legalism is not right are the very ones who are guilty. For some reason this phrase is used all too often when an old fashion preacher starts stepping on toes.
Yes we can be too legalistic in a lot of areas but we still should appear to be a holy people, separated from the world for a divine purpose
