Sowing And Reaping
John 4: 35-38
Text Verse 37

When we think of all the wondrous works that God has done when we look at the stars at night, the sun, moon the trees, the ocean and all the other glorious things we have to wonder why in the world would God use weak, frail, sinful people to tell others about Jesus and His grace and mercy.
In the preceding verses Jesus had been speaking to the woman at the well. He was telling her that she needed living water because the natural water that satisfies the thirsty body would never be able to satisfy the thirsty soul. Of course He was speaking of Himself as that Living Water. Isn’t it just like our Jesus to stop by and offer Himself to all that He crossed paths with and all who would come to Him by faith. We too are suppose to be just like Christ sowing and reaping in the vineyards of the world to tell others about Christ. So why don’t we do this for this is our place ultimately.
(1) Lack of Faith- When we don’t go out or at least speak of Christ we show our lack of faith. We are saying no to God and robbing ourselves of the blessings He would love to bestow upon us. Not soul winning is a certain death blow in our walk with Christ.
(2) Selfishness- Don’t have time, thinking of self, lose sight of souls, we want what we want, serving our other gods 9work, family, boats, cars, land, houses money, prestige.
(3) Comfortable- We don’t see the poor, hear the cries of the needy, needs of the homeless, we don’t want nothing to interfere with out schedule
(4) Need Someone To Go With- This is crucial, encouraging, provides stability, dependability, consistency, without a partner it limits area
(5) Not Taught- Emphasized, lack of knowledge, not be seen as a command
(6) No Prayer on Knees- Praying is finding strength, victory over fear, gaining confidence.
(7) Influence Of Cold Churches- Non evangelism centered, no vision, no concern for the lost, satisfied with the status quo, conceited.
(8) No Eye To See Souls In Hell- No vision of a burning hell, screaming souls being tortured, no impression of death and hell in our minds and hearts.
(9) Fear- Not enough faith, not sold out to God, fear of man, no confidence for God to protect you.
