Since those of us that support McCain/Palin have been given homework, I would like to ask a few questions of the Obama/Biden supporters: 1. What major accomplishments can Obama boast in his tenure as a US Senator? 2. What will the effect be of repealing the Bush tax cuts? 3. If a person pays no taxes, and gets tax relief under the Obama plan - what does that really mean? 4. If small buisinesses employ 90% of the work force, but only about 10% of them make in excess of $250,000, but those that make $250,000 employ the greatest majority of working americans - what effect will raising the taxes on those buisinesses have on the working community? 5. We all admit that drilling on American property is not the final answer to the energy crisis. How does not drilling and/or not building new refineries and nuclear plants help us to get out of the energy crisis? 6. Who is affected by a raise in minimum wage? 7. How, under Barack Hussein Obama's plan, will the tax relief be given to people that do not pay taxes already? This ought to be a good starting point. This ignores foreign policy experience, abortion, immigration, the war in Iraq and judiciary appointments. |

Chip, your last statement was: "This ought to be a good starting point. This ignores foreign policy experience, abortion, immigration, the war in Iraq and judiciary appointments." By abortion, am I to understand you mean Sen. Obama's support of Roe V. Wade ? And is his position on abortion the deal breaker, in your opinion? Don You sure are a one-trick-pony on this one aren't you Don? I give several other examples of Bark H. Obama's plan that I find problematic, and you zero in on one of the things I said I was ignoring in the lead post. How about trying to stick to the question at hand? While I am shocked that you have no problem with Barack's current support of late-term abortion on demand, I purposefully left it out so that we could discuss some other issues. Shall I assume that you have no desire to look at the 7 other issues I raised? |

Answering my question may not be germaine to your topic. Even so I like to know what anothers definition of a word or a term is before I really get too serious about a discussion. <Don> It occurs to me that had you actually stuck to the lead post, then whether or not you have a liberal view would not have arisen. |

I don't know what Don's point is, but the IMPRESSION he gives is that he is desperately searching for vindication for voting for Obama. Don, my word to you is that if you want to vote for Obama, go ahead. I think you will regret it, but that's your problem before the Lord. |

Sorry, I should have added, "But trying to justify yourself with me will be a waste of time. Obama is bad news for America from start to finish and no one will ever convince me a vote for him is a righteous vote, but it IS your privilege in the republic we live in." |

Thank you all for your responses. Chip, I don't know the answer to your questions. I do know how we got into this mess and what I believe needs to be done to reverse what has taken place in Congress and main stream America. It seems we Americans have been given some unsound choices to make and that in this community it seems to me that all of you really don't care what I think as long as I support Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin. It is interesting reading the different and varied percieved responses aimed at my Political views. It will be a long week until election and it an't over til it's over and the fat lady sings. Don- My reasoning for much of this thread has been to offer the opposite side of the coin than you have been offering with Obama and against Palin. I don't think anyone really knows how we got into this mess aside from an all-emcomapssing greed - it started at Main Street with entitlements, went through DC, and then Wall Street figured out how to make oodles of cash from it. I have no idea what your political views are. You say that you are not a liberal. As a christian, your yes is yes and your no is no - so I have no reason to doubt you until you throw your support to a liberal and cast apsersions on the one true conservative in the race. Granted those aspersions are not against her policies. We can agree that, once again, America is being spoon-fed a couple of masty choices. I now have to steep my decision down to a few reasons. Taxes, abortion and the military. For me the choice is clear. -Chip |

In his book, Dreams of My Father, Obama readily admits he chose very carefully to sit under the teachings of Marxist professors. There is growing concern, his atitudes have changed little. ACORN, which he helped lawyer for and who was given over $800,000 by Obama's campaign is being sued some 20 million for tax liens. The Los Angeles Times admits to having a tape which has Obama praising one of America's top known Muslim extremists but they openly refuse to release it. Wayne Hyzinga, owner of the Miami Dolphins, has just gone on record as saying, "If Obama wins, I am selling my team and giving the profits to charity rather than Washington. His capital gains taxes will double under OBama and Hyzinga and many other very rich are going to do the same so to keep any monies from the Washington redistibution of money to those who won't work and yet will receive refund check for their laziness. So, bottom line, already Obama's tax plan isdoomed to failure. ben |

As an aside, I believe the antichrist will be Muslim. Not saying Obama is either, but I think he is likely a precursor. Of course I could be wrong about the ac being Muslim. Time will tell, but I think it would be something interesting to look out for in Scripture. |

Ben, I hope Mr. Hyzinga actually does what he says unlike those hollywood celebs who said if Bush won they would move to a foreign country for the duration of his term. I was happily looking forward to Alec Baldwin leaving....but, he never did. I am tired of seeing my paycheck dwindle from taxes and knowing that it goes to support welfare recipients who won't get off their butt and get a job. I told my roomie the other day that I hope I don't get a promotion in the next four years if Obama goes in. What's the point? I was thinking about doing some things to grow my other business; but, why bother? I think a lot folks feel the way I do. The ones who don't are those who are sitting back and waiting for a hand-out under the Obama plan. To me the whole plan is anti-American. MrWonder, A lot of folks think he is the antichrist. It's just unbelievable how many people are so blindly following him. I have never seen such mass deception in my life. And, you know, in the past, people following democrats bothered me; but, not to this extent. No one in the past has been like this guy. If anyone else would have had a pastor like Rev. wright or relationships like Ayers or been involved in ACORN, etc., they would have been knocked down. They certainly wouldn't be the one projected to become the next President. I voted early last week. There were three women in there who had never voted. One was in her 80s (I would say) and the other two looked to be my age or so (35-45). They had no clue how to vote and only wanted to vote for President--nothing else. The clerks had to help them without looking at their screen. "Ok, make sure an x shows up in the box and press next...now you see a screen for senator, etc." They replied "I don't care about none of that...I just want to vote for President!" I am glad we have rights in this country; but, I left thinking if you haven't cared to vote in your entire life and you don't care to vote on local races or amendments that will actually affect your day to day life, why vote now? I also felt quite dejected and feeling like Obama will win with this type of voter supporting him. Sad! karkar |

Karkar: My daughter planned on going to work to get healthcare benefits. She would have to put her own daughter into daycare and of course pay high gasoline prices to get to the job. The short story is that she would end up trading her paycheck for heallthcare. Sort of an even trade. Now even the so-called "good" guys (McCain, who isn't really all that good but beats the snot out of Obama) are talking about taxing healthcare benefits. The short part of that is that it would actually cost her money to go to work to get healthcare benefits because those benefits are not dollars that go into your pocket but when they are taxed it will be dollars removed from your pocket. So she cancelled her job. She doesn't have the money to pay to be able to work. And yet illegal immigrants (does anybody understand the meaning of "ILLEGAL" anymore?) can get Social Security benefits that I paid for and still don't have yet and just hope that I will get them someday, when I'm old enough. It's bad enough as it is - Obama will be worse. |

MrWonder, It is very scary that in a week or so we could have a President, a filibuster proof Congress, and the House controlled be the same party. It seems to me that with this combination it would be very simple for a group in the White House control of the US. Don |

Don, if that does happen, I will take it as a signal from the LORD that we are very close to the translation of the Church. I do think Obama is a precursor to antichrist and that the latter will be Muslim. If Obama is not the one, then he will open the door to the one, in my opinion, recognizing of course that I am possibly mistaken. Nevertheless, I agree it will put a big damper on life in America should it happen as you wrote in 23. |

MrWonder, You and I have our disagreements on who will go through the Great Tribulation and when it will be ushered in. I do think it is past time to be considereing ho fst world events are shaping up for the Second Coming of our Lord. Not only is the enconomy of the US going down the tubes but also the majority og the world that will be fighting over a barrel of oil as the US has been for the last two wars and not presently are involved in two as I write. The bottom line is that oil not terrorism is the prize. In my opinion based in a number of years in the Middle East. Don |

Yep, the world needs oil and will fight over it and over the other riches in Israel. I think a vast oil deposit will be discovered under Israel and that will accelerate the greed of the world to destroy Israel and I am very concerned Obama will be President at that time because America is not going to help Israel and I can't see McCain turning his back on Israel but I know the former will. |
