1Jo:1:1: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 1Jo:1:2: (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 1Jo:1:3: That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1Jo:1:4: And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 1Jo:1:5: This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1Jo:1:6: If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1Jo:1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1Jo:1:8: If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1Jo:1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jo:1:10: If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Are you a One day a week Christian? Is the only time you think of God when your in Church. Friends People watch us every day. When your at the Store or When you are fighting with your spouse. Even Children Watch us. Do we Appear Christian? We As Christians must live by example. We Have an Obligation to our Lord and savior to Be seen as Christians 7 days a week 24 hours a day. If Not We are like John Says above Children of Darkness pretending to be Children of Light. |

Sometimes the difference between the Christian life and the average "worldly" life is obscured by the traditions of our culture. In America we have this great Christian heritage that in many ways has been adopted by our community in general. Yet it often only serves to mask the deceptions devised by the adversary, cloaking them in a "Christian" garb. Christianity is really very popular in America, but finding those faithful ones that live lives of Christian service is not always easy. Personal power and material success is too often promoted in Church circles, as opposed to the life of service taught by our Saviour, Jesus. Consider the Churches written to in the book of Revelation: In the letter to the church of Smyrna (Rev. 2:8-11) The Lord notes their poverty, and declares they are really rich. Furthermore, God has nothing to rebuke them for. Then to the church in Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22), to whom He has nothing good to say about. They are the ones who think they are rich. But God declares them to be "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked (3:17). These are church folk like ourselves. What would God say about us. Jesus is about to return. Where do we stand with our Lord? |
