STUFFED PEARS.....in the MW
1 - 29 OZ. CAN PEAR HALVES, DRAINED
1/2 CUP CHOPPED ALMONDS
1 TEAS. BUTTER
1/2 CUP SUGAR
1/4 TEAS. ALMOND EXTRACT
6 CHOPPED CHERRIES
1/2 CUP SWEET WHITE WINE...OR SWEET RED WINE
In a small bowl, melt butter in MW. Toss almonds with melted
butter.
MW on high 1 minute at a time till almonds are
golden brown and toasted.
Place pear haves in a round dish with thicker portion of
the pear toward the outside of the dish.
Add cherries and sugar and almond extract to the
almond and butter mixture.
Spoon mixture into cavities of the pears.
Using the 1/2 cup of wine....place one teas. of wine into each
pear cavity. Pour the rest in the bottom of the round dish.
Cover and MW on H about 3-4 minutes, depending on the
size of your MW.
Can top this with ice cream, cool whip, or whipped cream to serve
