Mrs. Krone's Yerushalmi Kugel | Combine in saucepan on a very low flame: 1/2 c. oil, 1/2 c. white sugar. Keep stirring very quickly until sugar turns brown. Pour sugar/oil mixture over 1 lb. pre-boiled drained noodles. Add 2 eggs, 1 1/2 t. salt, 2 t. baking soda, 4 T. sugar. Season to taste with black pepper (it should taste peppery). Bake in a tin or aluminum pan at 350 for 1 hour. Slice into squares and serve. | |
