Gooey Apple Dumplings
2 8-inch pie crusts, unbaked
3-4 granny smith apples
8 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp butter
8 dashes cinnamon
Syrup;
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
3 tbsp butter
1/4 tsp cinnamon
In a medium saucepan, mix the syrup ingredients together. Boil 3 minutes, watching carefully that the mixture doesn't boil over.
Meanwhile, cut the pie crusts into quarters.
Divide sliced pared apples over crust quarters. Top each with 1 tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp butter, & dash of cinnamon.
Wrap up each dumpling. Seal the seam with a dab of water.
Place in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan/dish. Pour syrup over top.
Bake at 350~f. for 40-60 minutes, or till nicely browned.
