Making a Runic Charm
Define your intention or desire, research the required runes and meditate on their potential. This is using the assumption that you are already familiar with a chosen runic system.
Gather material to hold the rune(s) soft carving wood, clay, ink & paper, thread & cloth... whatever feels right to you.
Centre and create sacred space.
Fashion the charm. Carve, color, and empower the runes, using chanting and songs. When possible, chant the runes at sunrise.
Send out the necessary energy to bring about the needed result by merging with the successful effect of the charm. Say these words to bind your charms:
By the might of Odin, Vili, and Ve
By the strength of ice, air, fire, land, and sea
I bind the powers within this charm.
Let it always heal and never harm,
Now this work has been wrought
With the mighty runic lot.
By the powers of the moon, stars, and sun,
I ask that this work be done.
So shall it be!
So be it!
Use deep breathing and visualization to direct the charm's energy toward its destination. Become one with the divine, attuning with the Goddess and God, asking for guidance and insight. See, feel, hear, taste, touch, and intuit the successful outcome of your magical runecharm. Remember, it is your perceptions that provide the best key for unlocking the magical energies of the runes.
Thank the divine energies who have helped you with your magic.
Close your sacred enclosure.
Several times a day visualize the runic charm being successful. Do this for as long as it takes for the charm to work.
The following runic charms reflect a blending of Northern and Celtic traditional incantations, plus some more contemporary formulas. They utilize three runes each. One of the runes is non-invertible-a rune that looks the same whether upright and reversed and represents the realm which power is drawn.
