Dragon Magick

Dragons are wonderful supernatural beings. If you are patient ,you can entice a dragon to be a friend . The easiest to meet are the guardian dragons, they are considered the "baby" of the species. They are almost always supervise by one or more adult dragons, which you may or may not see.Depending upon your level of concentration.Or their desire to be seen.Dragons can be very mischevious creatures.But fret not to them its play not harm they are doing.

Little dragons are good for help with protection, love, friendship, divination psychic abilities, dancing, music, and general rituals. Their most important task, however, is protection of you, Once a dragon has chosen to be your guardian it becomes most essential to them to protect you above all else. These little personal dragons are the most friendly of their species and the most fun-loving. They enjoy impromptu rituals that include dancing,singing, and fun in general. They like ginger ,spicy incense sweet scents attract them . They like to hang over your shoulder they are very in touch with you.if your a tarot reader or one from the runes.or even just reading a book,you might notice ones presence over your shoulder. If you have trouble visualizing your dragon, and you can fell them try putting a crystal to your third eye on your forehead.

You can burn a candle, any colour except black as well as a spicy or sweet incense. Set out a few crystals to draw their attention and then say the following chant

Chant to Make Friends with Guardian Dragons

"Little dragons, rainbow bright,Good friends of this family,Send good wishes to us all.

Join our rituals merrily.Protect us through each day and night,While awake or while asleep.

Through your love and vigilance Do this family safely keep."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not all dragons are of positive energy,Good and bad is not a term used around them,positive and negative.if you call upon a dragon for the power of the negative,you might not like what it is you call.The old age term,"careful what you wish for" applies here
As we stated earlier there are many types of dragons.Most do however follow the 5 elements. Dragons will not permit themselves to be treated like pets, they will not tolerate it in the least. Dragons have been alive far longer than any of us, their knowledge and wisdom is sometimes unimaginable."
Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Spirit.
Dragon
Colors associated
Their temperament
Fire Dragons                    Red, orange, black          Strong, Fierce,Protective
Water Dragons Dark blue, lavender, grey Bring change of mood
Air Dragons Light blue, yellow, white Small,friendly,shift shapes
Earth Dragons Dark green, purple, rust brown Eager to please,
Spirit Dragon scarlet, rose, peach, golden green, turquoise, indigo Powerful,can take any shape
Excerpt from Elemental Power by Amber Wolfe:
"Dragons are conceived in spirit, in the element of your intentions. Dragons are born from fire, the element of your motivations and sensations. Dragons are borne on air, the element of your communication and perception. Dragons are embodied by earth, the element of your structured orientation and connection. Dragons are dispersed by water, the element of your emotions and intuition. Throughout this magick process, eternally present, dragons are guided by spirit, the element of multidimensional transcendence. Dragons arise from your consciousness, fueled by your desire, expressed by your inspiration, manifested by your efforts, and retired by your transformation. They are continually empowered by your quests for the gifts of truth and light. Dragons are the reflected images of your personal energy, your personal light. Dragon images enable you to focus, receive, activate, and manifest transformation in your life."
   GUARDIAN DRAGONS
         The Guardian Dragons are adept at their tasks and quite skilled in fulfilling their
charges. Remember that their place is to guard and keep secret, not to do anything else,
and while they may try... success is not guaranteed. That comes from not following the
hierarchy. Other tasks may be asked of other dragons for whom the task falls closest to
their sphere of influence. Guardian Dragons may be called to serve for a brief period of
time (length of a trip ) or for an indefinite time frame (length of a marriage). There are
THREE methods for summoning them, one for immediate needs, one for the short term
need and one for the long term.  All of which need to have an ending point to their service.
They cannot be summoned to stay forever. Bear the time frame in mind as you summon
them and thank them  afterward.
               SUMMONING THE GUARDIAN DRAGONS:
                     TYPE 1: THE SUDDEN NEED SUMMONING
          This summoning is short and to the point. Usually used to protect the
caster or another in a sudden crisis. Here are several incantations for just such moments:
  "By Dragon wing and Dragon claw,
   My(his/her) Defense is without flaw."
  "Shrouded by Dragon might
  Remove me(him/her) from their(his/her) sight."
  "Fly before me (him/her) Dragon bright,
  And blind my(his/her) foe with Thy light"
  "Full of rage and terrible ire,
  Burn them(him/her) with Thy Dragon Fire!"
  "Dark and terrible be Thy wrath,
  Dragon, protect me (him/her)on my(his/her) path!"`
   Make the Sign of the Guardian (either in the air or on your brow)
In the Air, pull thumb and pinkie fingers into the palm and with middle, index and ring
fingers draw three lines at once. Then bending the ring and middle into the palm, draw one
line down the right side of the other three.  On a surface simply draw it as you would in
the air.
Sign Of The Guardian:
 Once the task is completed say
 " Guardian Dragon thanks be to you,
 My friend both steadfast and true!"
                             TYPE 2: THE SHORT TERM PROTECTION.
         This summoning is used for short term goals and needs such as protecting an
object being leant, or anything for a brief period, such as a car ride or elevator trip. Mark
the object to be protected with the sign of the guardian and repeat the incantation below:
 "Gentle Guardian wise and strong
 keep it(me, him/her) as it (I, he/she) doth belong.
 Safe within thy charge and care,
 the current problem to fare.
  No harm to come or ill to befall
 Guarded and safe through it all!"
                 TYPE 3: THE LONG TERM NEED
         This form of summoning is closer to permanent as we would perceive it. Yet in
this for you must still work with a time frame in mind, however distant it may be.
Guardian Dragons may be summoned in this fashion for protection of people places and
things needing or deserving long term care (such as children, houses, spouses, etc).
Multiple objects can be protected with but  a change in grammar, but they must be
together for a single dragon to protect ( the objects become a mini- horde).
  "Dragon brave and Dragon wise,
  let nothing escape your eyes.
  I summon your from your hidden lair,
  (name object here) is entrusted to your care.
  Permit no harm to come to ( named object) within your sight,
  in your presence let all evils take flight.
  No baneful creature born of flesh or spirit,
  may touch (name object) nor even come near it.
  Let those that would bring harm,
  be filled with fright and alarm.
This pretty much your standard Circle casting, the purpose of which is two-fold: first, to keep the energies you are raising contained until you are ready to release them, and second, to keep out any unwanted energies and/or entities that may be attracted to your magical workings.
The items you will need are:
1) A wand, athame, staff, sword, or just the index finger* of your dominant hand (I prefer a wand myself, if I'm going to use a tool, as it is easy to make one yourself, we all have memories of finding a "Magic Wand" as a child, and few "authority types" will have a problem with a nicely decorated "stick"); *Note: unless you have consecrated all of your tools already, use your finger to direct the energies
2) Incense -- stick, cone, powdered, or loose herb; incense holder; incense-specific charcoal (for loose incense); matches or lighter (preferred);
3) Dish of clean water
4) Dish of salt (sea salt preferred, which can usually be found in the "ethnic foods" and/or baking section of your local grocery store but regular table salt is just as good);
5) Quarter candles and holders in the following colors: East, South, West, North
6) A special candle, or a nice figurine, or picture to represent your Dragon friends (Other rituals and/or spells may require additional tools, but the above list are the basics used in tool-based ritual workings.)
The Casting:
Step 1: Begin in the East, if possible, using the tool of your choice move around the circle South, West, North and back to East visualize red/orange Dragon fire erupting from the tool to form a flaming perimeter around the circle and say: By Dragon Fire and the power of my will let the circle be sealed! Repeat 4 times or until your return to the East. "Tie" the circle off using the symbol for infinity.
Step 2: Light the incense and again move from the East. As you move "see" the smoke driving all unwanted energies from the circle to be consumed by the Dragon Fire and say:
By Dragon's Breath and the combined powers of fire and air, let the circle be purified and sealed. Repeat 4 times or until you return to the East. "Tie" the circle off using the symbol for infinity.
Step 3: Stir sea salt into the water dish and visualize the salt destroying any unwanted energies in the water. Project the Dragon energy into the water until you "know" the water is pure and say:
The sacred salt now destroys all harmful and unwanted energies from this water. By Dragon magic I call you purified. Beginning in the east, liberally sprinkle the circle while visualizing the combined powers of earth and water destroying any remaining unwanted energy within the circle. As you traverse the Circle,
say: By Dragon Tears and the combined powers of earth and water, let the circle be consecrated and sealed! Repeat 4 times until you return to the East. "Tie" the circle off using the symbol for infinity.
Step 4: Return to the altar and say out loud:
Now is the circle sealed and the boundary made. By Dragon Magic and the power of my will, let nothing but beneficial energy enter in and nothing but beneficial energy emerge for the betterment of myself and my Clan. So Mote It Be!
The circle is now cast and you are ready for the next step: Calling the Guardians of the Quarters
When calling the Dragons of the Quarters, you are asking for a willing Dragon to watch over and direct the elemental energies associated with that particular quarter/direction.
At first you will probably get several different Dragons standing in as Quarter Guards each time you cast a circle. Eventually, you may find that the same four are answering your call each time (you'll be able to tell by the "feel" of the energy each brings). If/when this happens, you can either wait until the Dragon chooses to reveal his or her name, or you can choose a name by which you will call each one (don't worry, if you pick a name the Dragon doesn't like, you'll know!).
Many Dragons actually prefer to work this latter way, taking the name as a gift. In either case, you can then substitute those names for the phrases "One who is willing" and "Great ______ Dragon" at the appropriate quarter.
East: From the lands of the Eastern Dragons comes the glorious powers of Air! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Eastern Gate. Lend me (us) mastery of the powers of Air. Aid me (us) in developing my (our) intellect and wisdom. Come watch over this circle that there may be wisdom in all that I (we) do! (trace invoking pentagram then raise your hand in salute) Great Eastern Dragon, hail and welcome!
South: From the lands of the Dragons of the South, comes cleansing power of Fire! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Southern Gate. Lend me (us) mastery of the powers of Fire. Aid me (us) in developing my (our) free-will and creativity. Come watch over this circle that I (we) may create joy and beauty! (trace invoking pentagram then raise you hand in salute with) Great Southern Dragon, hail and welcome!
West; From the lands of the Dragons of the West, comes the purifying power of Water! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Western Gate! Lend me (us) mastery of the powers of Water. Aid me (us) in developing my (our) intuition and control over my (our) emotions. Come watch over this circle that I (we) may have the courage to listen to my inner voice and act as needed! (trace invoking pentagram then raise you hand in salute with) Great Western Dragon, hail and welcome!
North: From the lands of the Dragons of the North, comes the sustaining power of Earth! I call upon One Who Is Willing to guard the Northern Gate. Lend me (us) mastery over the powers of Earth. Aid me (us) in developing strength of body, mind and spirit. Come watch over this circle that I (we) may have the strength to delve into the mysteries of the universe! (trace invoking pentagram then raise you hand in salute with) Great Northern Dragon, hail and welcome!
When you are done with your ritual, it is a good idea to formally close the circle and release any residual energies that may still be lingering about. This is just good magical housekeeping. The closing of a circle can be as fancy or simple as you like. I prefer the simple.
With that in mind, here is the Draconic Tradition's Circle Closing:
Step 1: Thank your Dragon friends for their participation. Use whatever words you feel best expresses your gratitude for their aid and friendship.
Step 2: In reverse order, Thank the Dragons of the Quarters for their assistance:
North: From the lands of the Dragons of the North, you came to my Call and I thank you with all my heart! As you return from whence you came, Great Dragon, I wish you farewell and safe journey until we meet again. Hail and farewell!
West; From the lands of the Dragons of the West, you came to my Call and I thank you with all my heart! As you return from whence you came, Great Dragon, I wish you farewell and safe journey until we meet again. Hail and farewell!
South: From the lands of the Dragons of the South, you came to my Call and I thank you with all my heart! As you return from whence you came, Great Dragon, I wish you farewell and safe journey until we meet again. Hail and farewell!
East: From the lands of the Dragons of the East, you came to my Call and I thank you with all my heart! As you return from whence you came, Great Dragon, I wish you farewell and safe journey until we meet again. Hail and farewell!
Now, there are several things you can do with the energy of the Circle's boundary. Some people "ground" it. This entails visualizing the energy sinking into the ground to be reabsorbed into the Earth. Others like to visualize it dissipating on the winds and returning to the cosmos. My personal choice is to "grab" hold of the energies and "push" them out until they merge with the energies of my house shields, adding another layer of protection on my personal space (waste not, want not!). Over time, you can build up such strong protections that nothing short of a major god can ever breach them. When you are done, it is not uncommon to feel a little disconnected from the "mundane" or every day world. Thus, at this time, it can be a good idea to eat a little something to help "ground" you back into the regular swing of things.
