Sweet Sachet

Pretty up your bedroom or bathroom with this sweet little sachet. Make a bunch of them and give them out to your friends. They will love them.
Materials:
- size 10 crochet cotton- 60 yards of ecru and 3 yards each of blue and pink
- size 4 (1.75/2mm) steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain correct gauge
- tapestry needle
- scissors
Finished size:
Sachet measures 2-3/4 x 3 inches plus handle.
Gauge:
When working in fpdc/bpdc pattern (Rounds 2-4), 11 sts = 1 inch.
Back post double crochet (bpdc):
Yo, insert hk from back to front between 2 sts, then working from right to left go down from front to back between following 2 sts (around post), draw through a lp and complete dc as usual. See Fig. 1.
Back post slip stitch (bpss):
Sl st from the back around the first ch-3 in the previous row.
Double triple crochet (dtr):
Yo hk three times, insert hk through st in previous row and draw up a lp (yo, draw yarn through groups of two lps each) four times to complete one dtr.
Front post double crochet (fpdc):
Yo, insert hk from front to back between 2 sts, then working from right to left come up from back to front between following 2 sts (around post), draw through a lp and complete dc as usual See Fig. 1 .
Front post slip stitch (fpss):
Sl st from the front around the first ch-3 In the previous row.
Reverse sc (Figs. 2a-c):
Insert hk in st to the right of last st worked and sc, join with a sl st in first reverse sc of round.
Directions: BASKET:
With ecru, ch 48, sl st In first ch to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, dc in each ch around, sl st to top of beg ch-3 (48 dc).
Round 2: Fpss, ch 3, 2 fpdc, * 3 bpdc, 3 fpdc, repeat from * to last 3 sts, 3 bpdc, sl st to top of first ch-3.
Round 3: Fpss, ch 3, fpdc in each st around, sl st to top of beg ch-3.
Round 4: Bpss, ch 3, bpdc, * 3 fpdc, 3 bpdc, repeat from * to last 3 sts, 3 fpdc, sl st to top of first ch-3.
Rounds 5-7: Repeat Rounds 2-4.
Round 8: Repeat Round 2.
Round 9: Ch 3, fpdc around beg ch-3 of Round 8, * dc in next st, fpdc around same st,* repeat between *'s once more, fpdc In next 18 sts, repeat between *'s six times, fpdc In next 18 sts, repeat between *'s three times, sl st to top of beg ch-3 (60 sts)
Round 10: Repeat Round 2.
Round 11: Repeat Round 4.
Round 12: Repeat Round 3.
Round 13: Repeat Round 2.
Round 14: Repeat Round 4.
Round 15: Repeat Round 3.
Round 16: Repeat Round 2.
Round 17: Repeat Round 4.
Round 18: Ch 1, reverse sc around as in Figs. 2a-c join with a sl st in first reverse sc of round. Do not fasten off.
HANDLE:
Ch 50, sl st into reverse sc on opposite side of basket. Sc in each ch on both sides of ch, slip-stitching securely to basket on both sides. Fasten off.
BASKET BASE:
Row 1: Join ecru with a sl st at bottom edge on one basket side, working through both layers together and matching sts, ch 1, then sc across bottom edge of basket, turn.
Finishing Round: Working in front lps only as in Fig 3, ch 3, dc into the base of the ch3, * 2 dc In next sc, dc in each sc across to last 2 sts, 2 dc in last 2 sc *, turn, then work 2 dc In back of next sc, repeat between *'s across, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3.
Fasten off.
FLOWERS:
Make a pink and a blue flower.
With pink or blue, ch 4, sl st In first ch to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 1 , 10 sc in ring.
Round 2: * (Sl st, ch 2, dc, tr, dtr) in next sc , (tr, dc, ch 2, sl st) in next sc, repeat from four times, join with a sl st in beg sl st. Fasten off, leaving an 8-inch end to sew flower to side of basket, positioning as shown in photograph.
