WORRY BEAD SPELLS by David Harrington:  When in Greece, you quickly become accustomed to the sound of worry beads clicking together. On street corners, in parks, and in the local taverns you see the Greek men deftly work the beads from finger to finger. In the hands of an expert this enterprise takes on the artistry of a juggler. After landing at the airport in Athens, one of the first gifts presented to me was a set of worry beads. It was surprising how soon I found myself, in my inept way, working the beads. The experience, when mastered, is soothing and relaxing.
The beads themselves are made of many diverse materials, anything from glass, metal, or ceramic to faceted jewels. While much of the Greek use of the worry beads is unconscious habit, the spinning motion of the sacred circle of beads generates an energy field that can easily be adapted to Magical purposes. You can easily make your own set of worry beads to use in Magic.
To Make Worry Beads
Cut a length of cord thirteen inches log, you can use a length of necklace chain if you prefer, particularly if you are using metal beads. Gather twenty beads, about one fourth by one fourth inch gauge. Beads that are somewhat heavy work best. Whatever type you choose, they should be fairly durable, since the beads click against each other as you rotate the strand. The beads and string color should represent your magical desire - pink or red for love, green or gold for money and prosperity, and so on. If you have access to gemstone beads, use ones that are appropriate for your need.
String the beads loosely onto the cord. The more space left for the beads, The more easily they are moved. Tie the end of the cord securely. The strand should take on the appearance of a short rosary. You can leave a tassel on the end below the knot.
Take the beads and consecrate them to your purpose by passing them through the smoke of an appropriate incense, such as cinnamon for money, rose for love, or sage or copal for health. Say these words or something similar: Blessed be these worry beads/May my worry flee from me.
Loop the beads around your middle and pointing finger and start spinning clockwise, imagining your magical intent while doing so. If you like, with each rotation of the beads, you can restate your magical intent, though the consecration with the incense smoke should have imbued your intent into the strand itself, so each rotation sends that energy out.
As the beads come toward you, imagine what you want coming to you. As the beads move away from you, imagine the lack of what you want leaving you.
For example, in a prosperity spell, imagine money flowing to you as the beads come to you. When the beads are moving away from you, imagine your money worries or poverty leaving you.
Chants:
Bring me money! Banish need!
Bring abundance on every bead!
Hello Prosperity! Good by to poverty!
Heal my heart! Let loneliness depart!
Healing comes from head to toes!
Pain departs! Sickness goes!
Take the beads with you and continue working with them until your need is met and the new reality has manifested itself.
Wrap the beads in silk cloth and put them away until you need to use them for the same purpose again. With regular use of the beads, you may have very few worries left! |
