Cornucopia Center Piece

Display the bountiful harvest in a different way. Instead of stuffing a cornucopia with fruits, fashion a lush dried wreath on the rim.

Nature's Material

2 dried artichokes
6 dried pomegranates
6 mini pumpkins
3 stems of dried lemon leaf (salal)
4 mini corns
4 to 6 stems of dried hydrangea
9 clusters of red pepper berries, each 3 to 4 inches long, cut from one long stem.
7 bright, dried flowers. (I use strawflowers)

Other Material

Papier-mache, wicker or similar cornucopia (I love the look of the Papier-mache)
Clippers
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Glue all the heavy materials directly onto the rim of the cornucopia in this order; artichokes at the bottom, then pomegranates and pumpkins scattered around the rim. When you glue something heavy, be sure to hold it in place and exert pressure for about 15 seconds to allow the glue to dry and make a tight seal. Next cut the lemon-leaf foliage from the stems and glue them on all around the wreath, with some pointing outward and some inward. Also put some on the backside of the cornucopia rim. Glue on the corn. Fill in the empty spaces with pieces of hydrangea. If the flowers are too big, cut them apart in clusters and use all the clusters. Glue on the pepper berries and dried flowers where bright color is needed. These lighter materials can be glued onto the other fruits and leaves.
