Cinnamon Cut-Out Ornaments
Ingredients
1 cup applesauce
1 cup cinnamon, ground

Extra optional spices
1 tbs nutmeg, ground
1 tbs allspice, ground
1 tbs cloves, ground

If using these extra spices, decrease the amount of cinnamon by the same amount

Ribbon or string, if you want to hang your ornaments

Instructions
  • Place applesauce in a fine mesh strainer lined with a coffee filter, and leave over a bowl for a few hours to get rid of excess liquid.
  • Blend together spices and applesauce to form a dough
  • A portion at a time, roll out dough to about a quarter of an inch thickness. Too thin and your pieces will break easily. Roll between two sheets of freezer paper to keep it from sticking
  • Use cookie cutters to make your ornaments, carefully peeling them from the freezer paper.
  • Use a toothpick to poke a hole in the top, if you plan on hanging them
  • Let dry for at least 4 days
  •
    Get creative
You could use this dough to make all kinds of hanging decorations, as well as small statues or pentacles of your altar. If you can't find cookie cutters in the shapes you want, just use a sharp knife to design your own pieces.

    Blessed Be!
