Today I paid the ultimate price for voicing my concerns and opinions in support of my fellow union brothers and sisters. Qwest Communications terminated my employement. Much of the "evidence" they supposedly have came from posts made on this board. Please be very careful about what you post. And most of all.....stand strong and be UNITED!!!!

To Qwest Communications.......The only thing I am guilty of is CARING too much.....NOTHING you would understand.

PPM.  For all you have done, for all the support you have given, for all the sound advice, for being our sounding board.  THANK YOU.  May The Good Lord bless and keep you and yours and the wind always be at your back.

Rusty,
Be cautious with your posts.  Talking about the behaviors of managers on the job or off could be considered proprietary information under the broad and somewhat vague definitions they might have.  The company's perception is our reality, unfortunately.  What I once did with my managers on the job is so verbotten in today's world that neither they or I would consider doing something like that again, even with the same players.  (Thank goodness for retirement!)  It wouldn't be a smart thing to do, not at all.

Just be careful.  Talk about this in the privacy of your local hall with your members (no one else, violation there!) and then decide what recourse you, we have with this contract, with the NLRB, with your state constitution and labor laws and with the U S Constitution.  No mobilization activities as this is a grievable action and we have to let the process run it's course.  It's the law that we live with.

what are they talking about....

just because you post in the middle of the day when you are at  work does mean that "YOU" posted it.

if you are like me... i leave my computer on and i am signed in.

sometimes it is me and sometimes it is my wife who uses my login to this account and sometimes it is my son or one of his friends......

duh! you are at work... and any body can type words in on your login.....

just because you tell your son or wife something and they post their feelings on it does not mean that it is you that is typing....

i say you prove to the judge that "I" typed it into the computer......

you can't!

This is why we have grievance and arbitration processes.  Security does their bit, they suspend and may be terminate our employment. Then the ball is in our court, we have the union and CBA where we are obligated by law to go thru the grievance and arbitration steps.  If there is no satisfaction there, then it's to civil court.  Don't let your heart over rule your head.  Keep it cool, work and act smart at all times.

Just leave no room for doubt or suspicion about your activities on company time or with company resources.  Be careful of what you say in public forums or venues (net, blogs, bulletin boards, etc.)  We need to get clarification on code of conduct, every chapter and verse.  If you're up for annual coverage soon, be sure to ask questions about any and everything you don't fully understand and don't sign until you know what it is you are signing.  Before I left it was all CBT.  Call the 800 number or the security office in your area.  Get the answers you need.  Ignorance is not bliss, unfortunately.  Go to your next general membership meeting at your local union hall and ask questions about what's allowed and not permitted behavior.  It's one place you can go and get answers and talk, and if your local officers don't have the answers they'll get them from your area (state) rep, if not there, then the district.  None of us like what's happening, but it is happening and we have to play the hand we're dealt.  To persist is to achieve.

Knowledge is power.  There is strength in unity.  Attitude is everything!!!!

Did you get to see this "evidence"? How was it proven that did something wrong? Take it to court and put a summons on this "evidence". The burdon of proof would rest on thier statements. In other words they would have to prove it.
