Linda May Duhaney affectionately known as Chicketer or Mamma Chicky was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She was the youngestof three children for Susan Gibson and Robert Reid.She grew up in Senior Westmoreland and attended Senior Elementary School. She did dressmaking and then move to Catadupa, St. James, Jamaica. She later met Kenneth Duhaney (Papa Ken R.I.P)They married and the union produce 13 children. They are Phillip, Sisi(R.I.P). Jenny,Bam,Blessed,Horace,Sterling,Titi,Rita,Stedman(R.I.P),Robert,Gem,and Gary(R.I.P) Mamma Chicky lived in Toronto, Canada for many years and later migrated to Brooklyn, New York to join her son Phillip.
She was a woman who had devotion and integrity, a woman who understood a hard day's work. Her core accomplishment was family. Her life is measured in the abundance of the values she created for us. Her home is always open and everyone was always welcome. She was highly religious and believed God would take care of everything. Her favourite saying was "to leave everything in the hands of the Lord.
She instilled Courage, compassion, laughter, dedication and hard work and push us all to excel.
