WELCOME TO THE GROUP MAY'S RECAP Just as God gives to each rose
A gentle touch of dew
And gives unto each evening sky
The lovely sunset’s hue
So may he give to you
From his enduring love
Great happiness and hearts’ content
And blessings from above.
The group recap is something i came up with to keep everyone in the loop as to what is going on in the group if they are away. If you are new and has just join our group please take sometime to check the other monthly recaps to get an idea of how we come to be. As the new year roll in, we the members here at DFC had a good 2007 and is looking forward to a great 2008. I am blackempressss the founder and my assistant is Simon and he's our co-founder as here at DFC we prefer that terminology.Another month as come to an end we are in May now, but this is April's recap of what happen here at DFC. If you did not belong to our group then, it is a good idea to check out our other monthly recaps you will learn alot about our group and what we have been doing in the pass months. Welcome to the group family and friends i am delighted to have you here and continue to look forward to getting to know everyone a little at a time through various messages and through our chatroom. May started out with alot of excitement we had alot to look forward to this month of may. We are celebrating mother's day and we are also celebrating our 1st birthday. For mother's day we had a game going called take a rose and leave a note, at the end of that game that final post was turn into a divider and you can check it out just below story time here. For our birthday we had two days of chat and i planned a secret surprise for members who came out to chat. The members who came to chat was rewarded with 3 tags each and those members are Wendy, Cissie, Juju, Spiritangel, Chev and Niteowl. I am especially thankful for Niteowl because he kept the doors of the chatroom open when i had to do something else. Chev came home late from work and while we only had 30 mins of chat left she stayed in chat and chat with us pass our closing time. So a big thank you to all the members who came out to chat and i hope for our next chat that others will come out as well. We also had a thread on the general board where members could wish the group happy birthday those wishes was then move to the board on the left that says our 1st birthday be sure to check it out. | | ContentWe did a member sweep recently and our next member sweep is due at the end of july. So if you are a member but you have not been participating now is the time to get active. It takes only a few minutes to post an hello and play 3 games so i hope to see you all on the boards. We have new members jds, hardie and Kim join us for the month of May. Kim has been on the boards we have yet to hear from jds and hardie. I am happy to say that our Introduce Urself board has had some new introduction and in may our percent was 64.5% it is a great way for us to get to know you, so if you have not been on that board yet you need to jump at it right away. We also have a members profile for the group be sure to check that out as well and do not post your email. For the month of may that board also has some activity and we are sitting at 48%. My goal for our Introduce Urself and Members Profile board is to be at 100 % which would mean every member has seen these two boards and has shared with us as little or as much of themselves as they are comfortable sharing. Also for this month two of our members celebrated birthday Mel and Omar. As we can no longer use the 1award site for voting as we are a general group. I created our own vote for us so when you log in to the group be sure to check the general board and vote for us. it is one of the few boards you can back to back post on. However, you have to add alittle message with your number and be sure your voting is different day parts, you can vote morning, afternoon, evening and late night. We also have a city which i am very fond of i go there all the time. Everytime you visit the city our rank for city in Canada goes down as this group is created in Canada. When you visit the city you are checking our ranking to the right, our population, revenue, unemployment, transportation, criminality and pollution just below. Be sure to record if anyone leave the city for employment and click on the write in the bulletin and leave a note so we know you drop by. It is fun so check it out. | | We added some new games to our general board to add variety to our activity so come on out and play some games on the general board. We have our Calendar that tell you what going on for that month. We have our birthday board click your month of birth and add your date if you have not done so. We also have an anniversary board and we chose to have that because anniversary can be of marriage or a death of a love one whatever you want to share as an anniversary. We want to celebrate with you whether it is happy times or sad times, we are here to connect and have fun doing so. We also added new poems, thoughts, inspiration,jokes and stories be sure to check them out. You may find something there to brighten your day and add a smile to your face. Our game winners are Cissie, Spiritangel, Niteowl, Diva, Wendy and Cybelangel. Cissie is also our first member to post the 100th post and she has done so in the who stole the cookie game. It's a great honor and she was rewarded with a tag saying " I am the 100th post" way to go Cissie keep it up. We also have weekend questions and what that is; every weekend a new question is ask and this game started in may as well along with our weekend brunch, and what that is you come out and join us in a drink of coffee, tea and or pastries. I hope to see you next weekend. There are 4 members still on email i am hoping that will be fixed soon as those members will find there membership cancel if at the end of June the situation is not fixed. Here at DFC we have members who has there own group or help to manage other groups. Before i talk about those members and those group i would like to talk about the around the world that is on the general board and also to the left of the group. This around the world is a way for groups to get seen around the world in different groups. As DFC is a Canadian group if a group was place in DFC for a month it would be in Canada for a month been show case. It's a great idea and it is run by Wendy at one of her groups that you will learn about soon. When a group is place on our around the world we go board to the left, or post on the general board, click on the banner and take a look at the group and see if its a group you would like to join. If you join the group come back and let us know by replying to the same thread on the general board. However, if you drop by but did not join do reply to the same thread saying you visited the group, you dont have to say why you did not join. And if there is something that stands out be sure to share it with us so we will know where to go when we go have a look. For the month of may we showcase one of wendy group so if you did not get a chance to check it out you can still do so.
