Peter and Lucy found themselves once more outside the garden gate. What an adventure they had had in the ark. It was as though they never left. Mother was shouting them, so they sneaked back into their back yards. Peter missed Lucy and Lucy missed Peter. It had been raining for days and they sat at the window looking out at the gates. When would the rain stop. They knew it would there was a bow in the sky for a promise. Would they be able to go back to the book they both thought at once. They were like brother and sister not friends.Even though they didnt know they would we do don't we. There adventures are ours too.They both sat looking out of the window sighing, but were not allowed out when it was raining.
When the rain stopped they couldnt wait. They ran across the yard and out of the gate. It slammed shut behind them, but they didn't mind this time. They turned and opened the gate from the outside. They jumped for joy as they found themselves on the platform once more and hugged each other and danced around.
A voice said "welcome" and the book once more was before them. It turned and opened up at another page and without waiting for the voice to tell them to come they both held hands and jumped nearly falling over each other.They held on tight to each other.
They found themselves amongst lots of people all running backwards and Forwards. Some where carrying piles of bricks. "I wonder what they are doing with those bricks". said peter. "Lets go look" said Lucy. They squeezed through lots of people coming and going. wow! in front of them were lots of buildings and a giant tower so high Peter and Lucy couldn't see the top. "Come on" said Peter "lets climb it", Lucy said "yes! yes! lets go right up to the top". They began to climb and climb and climb. It was so high they were tired before they got half way and decided to come back down.Back down on the ground they nearly got trampled on there was so many people. They found a little quiet place a little way away from the people and the buildings. "What is the tower for" they asked a man carrying the bricks, but he was to busy to answer. The tower went higher and Higher and there were people with plans, maps and some were mixing the daub, some making bricks some carrying bricks, some building. Everyone was working together each doing a part. None stop they kept on going kept on building.Peter and Lucy wanted to know, but noone had the time to tell them."Come on" said one of the men you can carry some bricks come on help", but Peter and Lucy wanted to play. Peter hid and Lucy found him and then Lucy hid. In all the building there were many places to hide,some of the children even joined in with them until they were called back to help. They didnt know why it was being built, but it was getting very high.Then they heard someone saying lets build the tower up to the heavens.Then we can make a name for ourselves and not be scattered. The voice said "They are all speaking the same language and together they will be able to do all things. we will confuse them and they did." They all spoke different languages and they didnt understand each other. They were scattered all over the world.
Peter and Lucy looked at each other. Now we know why people from different countries speak different languages. When they were together they would be able to do everything they planned whether it was good or evil . They left the tower that they had been building together. Then came many generations until Terah had a son called Abram. Abram grew and found a wife called Sarai,. Sarai couldnt have any children of her own
Terah and Abram and his grandson Lot and Saria set off to go to Canaan.
They settled and lived in Haran.
(But thats another story)
