Everyone was so excited, bustling about."What's going on "Said Lucy.People just ignored them and went about all excited. Lucy and Peter had to know. They found one of the young boys, "Whats going on" they both shouted together "Sarah has had a little boy didn't you know". "Can I go and see" said Lucy looking for Abraham. "I dont want to" said Peter. He was a boy and didn't much like babies. He had enough with his baby brother at home, but Lucy insisted and off they went to find Sarah and the baby. Inside the tent they found Sarah and in her arms she had a beautiful little baby boy."What are you going to call him" asked Lucy. Peter stayed behind near the door he didn't want to look at the baby. Sarah told Lucy his name was Isaac which meant Laughter.Peter stayed with Ishmael Abrahams other son. He started making fun of the baby and it made Sarah angry. She told Abraham to tell them to go. She didn't want them in the camp anymore.Abrahm was upset because of his other son, But God told him he would take care of both of them and that, as well as Issac becoming a great nation Ishmael would also become a nation, So Abraham gave them some food and a skin of water. The skins were what they carried the drinking water in when they went on a journey and he sent them on their way out of the camp. Lucy and peter followed and watched as they went into the dessert. Where they wandered with nowhere to go.
After a time the food and water ran out and not wanting to watch Ishmael die she sat him under a tree and walked away tears rolling down her face, she sobbed. Lucy was crying too she wanted to rescue the boy and hug Hagar and tell her it would be alright. God always did what he said but she couldnt she just cried and held onto Peter.
Had she gone a little further Hagar would have seen the well, but then she did see it. She ran to the boy held his hand and went to the well, filled up the skin and drank the water and gave some to her son to drink. Lucy jumped up and down and round and round Peter, till he was almost Dizzy she was so happy.
The boy grew up he didnt die just as God said. "I knew he would look after them" said Lucy," he said he would. Peter watched as Ishmael was so good with a bow and arrow.He wished he could shoot arrows like that, but they had to leave as their journey took them back to Abraham and what an argument was going on. Lucy didn't like arguments they made her frightened.They would turn into fights sometimes. This time it was Abraham and Abimelech. "I dug this well" said Abraham "and your servants took it as their own they just took it."Abimalech King of the Phillistines said he had only just heard and he didnt't know who had done it.
Lucy and Peter watched as Abraham brought some lambs from the flock. Peter counted seven he was good at counting, seven ewes. Abimalech wanted to know why he brought them and Peter and lucy wanted to know too."You take the seven lambs and then you will know I dug the well" said Abraham, So it was settled. Funny way to stop an argument, but it worked. Abimalech and Abraham made peace and Abraham planted a tree to seal it. They called the place beersheba Lucy liked that name it meant the two had agreed.She was glad they wern't arguing anymore. Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time. Peter and Lucy were so pleased not to have to travel anywhere for a good while
Then God called Abraham
