Lucy sat back down on the wall outside the prison very quiet. She didnt want to miss anything and Peter began to tell her of the dreams. "The head cupbearer told his dream first, so I will tell you his dream "The cup bearer said that in front of him was a Grape vine and it had three branches and as soon as
the buds came on the three branches theyflowered straight away and turned Straight into grapes." "Thats quick said Lucy they have never grown that fast before "Be quiet Lucy"said Peter I willforget if you dont stop interupting, so Lucy wanting to listen to the dreams went quiet again. The cup bearer said "I started to squeeze the grapes and the juice poured into Pharoh's cup and I put it in his hand." That was the work he did before he made Pharoh angry and was put into prison".said Peter. "I wonder what that meant" said Lucy. " I will tell you if you are listening ."said Peter Who was excited to get on with the telling. He liked it, because he knew about the dreams and Lucy didn't .
" Joseph knew the meaning"said Peter. "The three branches he said meant that in three days his head would be lifted and he would be set free from prison and would go back to being Pharoh's chief cup bearer again. Also Joseph told him how he had ben brought there sold as a slave and about the lies Potipher's wife had told about him and how he was in the prison for nothing and that when the cup bearer was free could he tell Pharoh about him and help him get out of prison.
Then it was the chief Baker's turn and Peter began to tell Lucy about his dream. the Baker said "On his head were three baskets. It's three again" said Lucy all excited jumping up and down again." Let me tell it Lucy" said Peter, so Lucy sat down again and was quiet while Peter told the dream.The top basket was filled with lots and lots of different loaves and sweet things for Pharoh and the birds were swooping down and eating them.
Peter said to Lucy "You will not like the telling of this dream," but Lucy said "Tell me Peter" She had heard the dream she wanted to know the meaning.She knew something was going to happen in three days, but she did not know what. You are right said Peter the three baskets are three days.
In three days the Baker will be hanged on a tree and the birds will peck him.
"Oh no Said Lucy that is horrible, but if Joseph said that was the meaning it will happen.
It was a long three days for Peter and Lucy. They wanted to see if Joseph was right with his meanings. The third day was Pharoh's birthday. What fun and what a feast they had. There were games, dancing and music and lot's of food. It was a big party. Peter and Lucy liked parties It was bigger than any party they had ever had. They had never seen so many people.and had such a wonderful exciting time that they had forgotten all about the cup bearers and bakers dreams until the music stopped and all was quiet and the Pharoh then asked for the Cup bearer and the Baker to be brought before him." It's all happening Peter" said Lucy as she remembered the three days and the dreams just as Peter had told her.They both watched as they were brought from the prison and before Pharoh. Pharoh lifted the cup bearers head just as in his dream and once more he became the chief cupbearer serving Pharoh, but he sent the Baker to be hanged.
Lucy was so sorry and upset over the Baker, but when she saw how happy the cup bearer was, she thought she remembered what Joseph asked him and thought he must remember but he did not and Joseph had to stay in prison.
It would be another two years before he would be out of prison.
Peter and Lucy watched as Pharoh slept and He began to dream
LOOK ! Peter and Lucy shouted together it is like looking at a big picture, just like we did with Jacob when he dreamed. Phroh was stood by a large river.It's the Nile said Peter and as they looked seven fat cows came out of it and began to graze,and then seven thin cows came out and ate the seven fat ones. then he woke up and the dream stopped. I wonder what it means said Peter as he walked away. Be quick Peter said Lucy come back. He has fallen asleep again and he is dreaming again.
This time they saw seven fat healthy ears of corn on a stalk. Then seven thin weak ones sprouted up and swallowed the fat healthy ones.Then he woke again.
Pharoh remembered his dream and sent for the magicians and the wise men from all across the country, but none could tell him what his dream meant.Peter and Lucy knew that Joseph could tell him, because he had told what the dreams of the cupbearer and the Baker meant.
Pharoh enquired off the people if anyone could tell him what the dream meant and the cupbearer began to remember that when they were in prison he had told he's and the Baker's dream and it happened just like he said, so the cup bearer told Pharoh all about Joseph and Pharoh asked for him to be brought before him.I have heard from the cup bearer that you can tell me the mening of my dreams said Phroh to Joseph.If I tell you my dreams cn you tell me the meaning.
Joseph said
No I can not, but God can tell you.Pharoh told him of his dreams about the fat cows and the thin cows. The healthy ears of corn and the thin weak ones.
When he had finished Joseph told him the meanings.
Seven fat cws meant seven years having plenty of food to eat and the seven thin cows meant the next seven years there would be no food in the land
The seven healthy ears of corn means for seven years there will be plenty of grain and the seven thin weak ones means seven years of famine
God is giving you a warning of what he is going to do, so you can be ready for it
If you do not save enough food in the seven good years. You will have no food for the seven years where there is no food and your people will starve .
You need to choose a wise man and put him in charge
It will happen soon so do not delay said Joseph.
