Did you guess right. If you said it was Joseph then you did. Peter and Lucy got it right, but they were there.
Peter went with Joseph as he travelled the land and chose leaders from all over to collect the food and store it for the seven years when they would have no food.When the harvest was ready they began to collect a part of it and store it.Pharoh liked what Joseph was doing so much he put him in charge of all the land and the people and said they had to do all that Joseph asked.Pharoh dressed Joseph in fine clothes, gave him his signet ring, put a gold chain around his neck and even let him ride beside him in his chariot. Joseph became ruler of all the land under Pharoh.
During the Seven good years Joseph married Asenath and had two sons. The eldest he called Manaseh because all his troubles were forgotten and the youngest because he had him while he was in Egypt where he was a prisoner. They had lots and lots of food to Peter's joy for the first Seven years and Peter travelled all over Egypt with Joseph making sure the food was stored properly.They collected all the food and stored it in the cities Peter had never seen so much food even in the supermarket when he went shopping with his mum. In fact he was telling Lucy they had so much they could not measure it anymore.
The Seven good years were over and as Peter and Lucy looked around there was no food growing and the Seven bad years without food had begun, but in the stores in the cities of Egypt. There was plenty of food.The warning in the dream was right and Pharoh had plenty, because he listened to what God was telling him through Joseph when he told him the meaning of the dream.Joseph opened the storehouses and sold the the food across the land.
When Joseph's Father Jacob heard about the food in Egypt he told his son's to go there and gave them money to buy food, but Benjamin the youngest stayed with his Father and the other ten brothers set off. Lucy and Peter followed them into Egypt. They both looked at each other as the brother's stood before Joseph. Joseph knew who they were, but they didnt know who he was, Joseph did not tell them who he was. He asked them where they had come from. Lucy said "He already knows that is he not going to tell them who he is." I don't think so" said Peter. They told him they had come from the land of Caanan to buy food, but he still pretended not to know them and pretended to be angry and called them spies. They bowed before him and tried to tell him they were just servants come to buy food.Then Joseph remembered the dreams he had how his brother's would bow before him."His dreams are coming true" said Lucy.and Peter said "Yes I remember the telling of them."
They told him their Father was at home with their younger brother and then there was one other who they thought was dead, but it made no difference he still called them spies come to spy out the land." If this is not true and you have come to buy food then choose one of you to go back and bring your younger brother and I will keep the others in prison till you return with him",said Joseph and he kept them in prison for three days. Peter and Lucy wondered what he would do they were his brother's and they had sold him.They felt so bad.After three days he told them to choose one of them who would stay and the others could take the food back to their Father. He then chose Simeon had him bound. Told his servant to place the money they had brought back in the sacks. Gave them the food and sent them on their way.
When they arrived home they told their Father all that had happened, but he wouldnt let Benjamin go.
The brother's stayed home until the food was all eaten then their Father said "Go back to Egypt and by more food," but they told their Father they could not go back without Benjamin, so Jacob agreed. He gave them the money they had payed for the food and more money to pay for more food. and gifts for Joseph and they set off with Benjamin.Peter and Lucy looked on as once more they stood before Joseph "They still do not know it is Joseph" said Peter."I know"said Lucy "I wonder when he is going to tell them".Joseph told his servant to take them to his house and prepare a meal for them, he would have dinner with them. When they reached the house water was provided to wash their feet and while they waited they set out the gifts their Father had provided.as they got out the gifts they saw the money and remembered it was back in their sacks. They talked amongst themselves. Lucy said Peter "they are saying they are frightened of being here. They think Joseph is going to call them thieves and attack them and make them slaves. We know Joseph wouldnt do that" said Lucy" but they dont. "They talked to the servant and said" has he brought us here because of the money in the sacks. We didnt take it, We dont know how it got threre. "The servant told them it was alright that he had put the money in the sacks as Pharoh told him to and he brought Simeon and had him untied and he joined them. He was preparing dinner for them and they were guests.
When Joseph came home they gave him the gifts their Father had sent for him and they bowed to him just like in the dream.one sheaf standing upright in the middle and the eleven other sheaves bowed down to the one sheaf.Joseph said they had mentioned a Father back home and how was he they said he was still alive and he asked them was this their youngest brother. then he asked for dinner to be served. He ran out of the room. "Oh Peter" said Lucy" he is crying now he has seen Benjamin". He dried his eyes and washed his face and went in to have dinner. As he was pretending to be an Egyptian he wasnt able to sit down with his brother's for dinner. Egyptians didnt eat with Hebrews it was bad, but He sat them across from him in a row from the eldest to the youngest they were surprised he got it right. but Peter and Lucy knew how.He was their brother. Benjamin got five times more on his plate than they had. Peter and Lucy joined them and they had a wonderful dinner.
Later he gave them the food, but he told the servant to place the money for the food back in the sacks, but in Benjamins sack he was to put his silver cup
and then he sent them on their way
