Christ Centered Devotion for 11/05/2008 Let's Live A Life Of Praise Unto the Lord Psa 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God. Quote
1 Cor 1:30-31 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Today's Verses - KJV Prov 2:1-9 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
My Comments Beloved, do any of us fully understand what we are and what we have when Jesus Christ becomes our life? I know I didn't when I first received Christ! In fact I am still growing in the understanding of Him! How do we acquire this understanding? The above verses tell us plainly! It happens when we receive His Words and hide them in our hearts so they become the light by which we walk. We must apply our hearts to understanding, yes cry unto the Lord for His knowledge and ask for understanding! We are to seek this as we would hunt for any treasure, with our whole heart! Make it a priority in our life, refuse to settle for anything less. When we do we will then understand the fear of the Lord that causes us to depart from all iniquity! Hear the Word of the Lord - Prov 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. The Lord gives wisdom, out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. This requires us to read, prayerfully, the Word of God and find out what He says and do it! As we do we will be walking in the way that pleases Him and His hand will be for us in all we do. Then can we truthfully say, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." Hear what the New Testament says about obtaining wisdom - James 1:5-7 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. Beloved, this tells us we can have all the wisdom we desire! This wisdom will not come from anywhere but from the Word of God and the prayer of faith believing you will receive when you seek for it with your whole heart. Meditate on it! Prayer
Father God, Thank You for the wisdom we have because Christ is in us. Thank You for writing Your Word on the fleshly tables of our hearts and putting it in our minds. Give us grace and understanding of who we are in Christ Jesus. Give us Your strength to live accordingly. We ask, believe we receive, and give thanks in Your Name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
