Today's Inspiration Facing the Worst
Read Ecclesiastes 4:7-12 Two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break. Ecclesiastes 4:12 (TEV) AN inexperienced homeowner, I recently faced a task beyond my ability. My new 13-foot television antenna has over two dozen movable parts and required assembly. It also needed to be carried 35 feet up a ladder to the top of the pitched roof and mounted on the chimney. When faced with life's challenges, I seek out others to accompany me through the unknown. In this case my friend Doug and I together assembled the antenna, carried it to the roof, and successfully mounted it on the chimney. I could not have done this alone. Often the circumstances of life rain down disappointments, heartaches, fears, struggles in relationships, struggles with doubt - the list could go on and on. In dealing with these, I have found that friends can share burdens and ease the heaviness of heart. The knowledge that someone else cares for me and is praying for me helps me to face the worst. And they remind me of a third presence with me: Jesus Christ. From Scott P. Kavanagh Lets Pray Lord of constant presence, thank you for bringing others into my life to walk with me. Amen.
