(I apologize for the deletion, sent without proof-reading) A very valid question was asked on one of our communities by a very well educated attorney from Florida. I have an answer__ but I want to hear what you may have to say here. I copied it as it as it was asked... without the name. (Original Message) | Sent: 9/13/2008 2:56 AM | As Christ came across men He wanted as His apostles, He asked them to leave their livelihoods (fishing, medicine, tax collecting) behind along with all the other elements of their lives and from that day forward attach themselves to Him and follow Him. These were men generally of His own age. Presumably many of them were married. Their wives and children depended on them. I can imagine that from their points of view they had been permanently abandoned so their husbands could go gallivanting around the country behind some kind of questionable guru. Once in a while (I know -- get a life) I find myself wondering about these people left to fend for themselves and what happened to them (an apostle's wives support group?) and what exactly was the morality of tossing them aside for the good of the cause. Is there anyone else here who's had nothing better to do than wonder about this? | |

Aho Doc Skye, don't know the answer she is seeking but, I look to the passage that they went to Peter's house in Matt 8:14. so to me I think that they visited many of the homes of the Apostles, but we are to learn of Jesus not the minor details, and as it is also written many women cared for the needs and tended to Him and followed Him..I am not a good student but this is what I understand of the question..It is like when we as Natives went hunting our woman stayed behind till we returned. yes I concur with you Micah and if we continue to study and follow the Gospel we will find in Acts the Mother of Jesus ( Mary ) and the women, you will notice it is plural meaning more than one, Also the Mother of Timothy tended to them as well..Hence forth we conclude that our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit never left these women deserted nor in need. But that is just my opinion..Always search scripture for yourself Love Barbara |

I look to the passage in Mark 15:40-41 and Mark 16::1 To me it denotes that women followed them everywhere and tended to them Smiles from Jennifer |

My question to the person would have to be......God the Creatot took His children into the wilderness for 40 years and provided for them....Do you think He did not provide for these women and their children? ...Nothing happens without His knowledge..So I say yes They were cared for. |

In the Book of Acts they were all together behind closed doors men and woman. The message of Bible to me is the teachings and the way, to return to our creator, not every little detail, conerning other things. Remember John Said if all the Books that were written were placed end to end ( cannot remember the rest ) but that is the point we need to study the words and leave the rest to the Creator. Love.
