An Answer for Naysayers

Luke 19:9 "And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house..."
Few things set my blood to boiling more quickly than hearing somebody proclaim that another person is either going to hell or is already there. God alone is the judge, and Jesus specifically said, "Judge not, that ye be not judged." (Matthew 7:1) Who are we to condemn another soul? Yet people are victimized daily by sanctimonious, holier than thou zealots, who seem intent on usurping God's role as judge.
Perhaps it bothers me so much because I too have been victimized by a deacon know-it-all. This fellow tried to convince me that a family member of mine was not saved, despite the fact that through the years I had said countless prayers for him, and was blessed to have an entire church pray for his salvation when they did not even know he was terminally ill. Yet deacon know-it-all, when told of this, smugly commented, "well...I don't want to rain on your parade, but..." The sheer audacity and caddish insensitivity of the fellow still disturbs me when I give it thought.
Friends, with God all things are possible. If you have a family member who's salvation you doubt, pray for him. Prayer changes things. And God has a history of showing mercy on the unsaved loved ones of those He justified. When Jesus dined with Zaccheus He said to him after the man had repented, "This day is salvation come to this house." (Luke 19:9) Hallelujah! Scripture declares that "Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord." (Gen 6:8). Mercifully, his wife and sons were fellow passengers in the ark. And the Lord spared Lot's family too.
No one can say for sure who is saved and who is not. Thank God He is the judge and not some person. Thank God for His mercy. Praise the Lord.
Love, your brother in Christ,
David
