Billy - if you ever come across a 'John William Means' (1836-1934) or other 'Means' in Prairie Grove Cemetery, I'd be very grateful if you could let me know what the headstone says.  I know that John William is buried there, but unsure of other family members.

Billy - thanks very much.  You've just given me some specific dates when I only had the year.  I'm very grateful.

Does anyone know anything about this Anna Engle?  I am searching for Engles, Keck, Sturdevant.  I know some are said to be buried in Prairie Grove and others are buried in Union Home Twin Churches Cemetery and some moved to Greene County, Missouri.  All these Engles came from Knox County, Kentucky.  They all are descendants of my Gott line.  There are even Gotts in this area of Missouri.  The Engles most likely do not know that they are related to the Gotts.

Maryland Gotts, Williams moved to Virginia then to Kentucky. This line of Engles are descendants of Elizabeth Williams who married Levi Vale.  Elizabeth and her family were captured by Indians coming down the Ohio River.  Elizabeth was known as the lost sister.  She had one daughter Rachel Vale who married Jacob Engle and they raised their family in Knox County, Kentucky.  Her Williams line was in Rockcastle Co., KY.  They never knew that their sister was just counties south of them.

Any help you could give me on these Cemeteries would be greatly appreciated.  This is my GGGG grandmother's family.  Nancy Ann Gott from Maryland who moved to NC and married my GGGG grandfather Ephraim Vernon.
