I have a Peter Myers that died in Dallas Co. He is my brick wall, I cannot find anything else on him. I was wondering if anyone could find anything at all on him? He was born (I think) in 1799 in Kentucky and died (I think) in 1871. See how positive I am about this? Hee...hee... gee any help would make me so elated!!!!!!! Becky

Hi Becky, I looked on the 1870 Dallas,County census(Jasper Twp.) and only found a Benjamin Myers(age 30),a James H.Myers(age 25),and Mathas Myers(age1) listed. They are all born in Mo.**** In the 1870 LINN COUNTY,MO (Yellow Creek Twp.)census,there is a (1)Peter Myers,(age 64),born in Kentucky.Also (2)Marion Myers,(age 40),born in Tennessee,and (3)Sarah Myers,age 29,born in Mo.Also in household is(4)William Smith,(age 5),born Mo. and (5)Jacob Smith,(age 12).....a few doors away is a John Myers,(age 23),born Mo,with Sarah,(age 25),and Rebecca ,(age 3)...   I know the age doesn't fit,but he's the closest one I could find ........He may have had family in Dallas County,and died there........Rosemary

Hi.  I found a family in Dallas county I think is the one you are asking about.  The name is spelled as Myres all three census years.  Peter born about 1800 in KY, wife Temperance born in IN, all children born in MO.  Looks like they lived very close to Brice (Bennett Springs) MO.  Here is that info if you need it.

I'm sorry, I don't have access to many cemetery listings, but I don't find Peter in the ones that I do have.  Maybe someone else can help you there.   Lois

1850 Dallas

MYRES #188-492

Peter 51 KY, Temperance 31 IN, Abraham 19, Elizabeth 18, Nancy 13, Peggy J. 12, Benjamin 9, Henry 5, Sarah 2, Temperance 2 mo.

1860 Dallas Jasper

MYRES

Beter 58 KY, Temperance IN, Benjamin T. 19, James H. 15, Temperance 13, Nathaniel 8, Peter 5, Martha 2

Thank you for looking that up, I would have never thought of looking for a missspelling of the family name!  How clever you are!  This is wonderful to find, now I am off to search some other things, and thank you very much!  Becky
