Moses G. Bennett (b. 1813 in NC d. 1890) of  Dallas County was my ggg-grandfather. I have most of my family tree done but have hit a brick wall on trying to find out who his parents were. I know he and Sarah Wollard married in Tennessee and came to Dallas County in the 1830s. Any help would be appreciated!

I was at the Dallas Co. Hist Soc last week & came across some info on Moses G. Bennett. I remembered someone wanting info on him so I wrote it down. I got it out of the Bennett file they have.

Moses Griffith Bennett b 4-9-1813 N. C., left N. C. at 10 years old with parents to Wilson Co, Tn. until 1834. Married Sarah Wollard of Murry Co, Tn. Moved to Dallas Co 1837. Settled on farm where N J Wollard now lives.
They also have an orginal letter written by Moses to family during the civil war. Plus the oath signed by his father, AMC Bennett orginal documents & other family records. Hope this helps you. debi

Hi Debi: Thank you so much for the info. Do you think if I contacted the Historical Society I could get a copy of the letter and oath? It sounds like I need to take a trip and go there and explore the records sometime. Thank you so much for your reply and help, this is GREAT! Vaunda
