I do not have any information on James or
Thomas, however, when I was reading my Dallas County , Missouri History Book I
came across a Charles J. Toombs who was a teacher at Washington Rural School (
1834- 1939)
Not sure that can help you at all, or even if
you have this information , but Toombs sounds like an unusual surname to me , so
who knows..Good Luck hope it helps..
