HI Mary,

The information I am looking for is on a
Margaret A Wisdom who married J. B. Jackson on 16 Nov. 1882 by Jp. Lewis W. Hart
    J. B. Jackson is from our line , and this probably is James B , however it could be John B as well.

Thank you for taking time too look for me.

    Have a Great Genealogy Day,

    Debbie Jackson

Deb,

My husband is descended from Nancy Wisdom who married Macklin Southard on May 18, 1813 in Guilford Co NC and Sarah Wisdom who married John Ethridge on April 02, 1818,  in Lawrence Co TN. These ladies were some sort of cousins both being descended from Thomas Wisdom and Martha Lewis of Caswell Co., NC. Nancy Wisdom's father was Larkin Wisdom and Elizabeth Phelps. Larkin Wisdom was a son of Thomas Wisdom and Martha Lewis. Sarah Wisdom was a dau of William Wisdom and Dorcas Crues/Crews/Cruise. William Wisdom was a son of John Wisdom and Sarah Fuller. John Wisdom was maybe the oldest son of Thomas Wisdom and Martha Lewis. His parentage is some doubtful and is under discussion by other researchers.

Don't know if any of the dates work but I have a Sophronia I. Wisdom who married one of MY family members- Charles H. Alford- on February 20, 1877.  Charles b: June 2, 1856 in Dallas County, MO to John M. Alford and Hannah (Hollomon.)  I have no other details on Sophronia I. Wisdom, other than her name in the marriage records of Dallas County, MO.

I have done some research on the Alford family. My records show that Owen B. Alford married Rosa J. Wisdom on January 19, 1882.

Owen B. Alford was the son of John M. Alford, the older brother of Orlando Dickson "Dick" Alford, who is my ggg-grandfather.

I'm interested in finding more information on Charles H. Alford, or any other Alfords that originated in Dallas County or Tennessee.

Mike,

Owen B. Alford is Owen Brady Alford.  He was named for a brother of his mother, Hannah Hollomon.  Hannah and Owen Brady's parents were:  Pleasant Hollomon (b:9/1/1803 in Cocke County, TN, d: 4/31/1865 in Meigs County, TN) and Susannah Richmond Brady (b: 4/30/1809 in TN, d: 4/14/1888.)

Coincidentally, Owen Brady and Hannah Hollomon also had a sister, Mary Jane "Polly" Hollomon, who married John M. Alford's brother Orlando D. Alford - your ggg grandfather.

I show that Charles H. Alford married Sophronia I. Wisdom on February 20, 1877 - I have no other data on him.
