Ressie Gertrude, daughter of Washingtion and Nancy Hill, was born March 5, 1892, near Long Lane, Missouri and passed away December 25, 1951 in her home at Independence, Missouri
She was married to George Cheek October 6, 1916 and this union 7 children were born - Pete of Elfrida (Elfreda), Arizona, Brunetta Luther and Bill of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jim of Kansas City, Missouri, Jerry of Independence, Missouri.  Bob of Liberty, Misouri and Rosetta Ware of the home.  Her husband preceded her n death in 1925.  Two stepchildren, Margaret and Wesley also preceded her in death in 1925.  Besides the above named children she leaves 15 grandchildren - 3 sisters, Alta Blankenship of Springfield, Mo, Frantie Triplett and Tina Gaunt of Long Lane, Mo, and a host of relatives and friends.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and lived the remainder of her life a faithful Christian.
She spent the entire early part of her life near Long Lane.  She moved to Independence in 1943 where she spent the remainder of her life.
She spent a wonderful Christmas day with part of her family and passed away in her sleep Christmas night.
She was a wonderful mother and companion - and a friend to all who knew her.
