Sarah Ann Smith, daughter of Aaron and Betsy Ann Smith, was born March 26, 1864 at Galesburg, Illinois, and departed this life at the home of a daughter Mrs. Oma Phillips, Kansas City, Kansas, April 25, 1949.

 She was married to William Columbus Hill in 1885.  To this union were born 10 children, six girls and four boys, six having preceded her in death.

 Surviving are Mrs. Lettie Ann Spradley, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Oma Phillips, Kansas City,Kansas, John Hill, Elkland, and Jesse Hill Independence, Mo.

 Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one brother, Henry Smith of Long Lane.

 When a small girl she moved with her parents to Dallas County, were she spent the rest of her life.

 Funeral services were held at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at the L. B. Jones & Son Funeral home with Lester Slack officiating.  Burial was in the Hill Cemetery under direction of L. B. Jones & Son.
