William Columbus Hill, son of Washington and Amanda Hill, was born August 7, 1866 and died suddenly at his home east of Buffalo, November 22, 1947.  He was 81 years, 3 months, and 15 days old.
 On September 20, 1884, he was married to Sarah A. Smith.  To this union 10 children were born, 6 daughters adn 4 sons.  Six of them preceded him in death.  He leaves to mourn his death his wife: 2 sons adn 2 daughters, John Hill, Elkland, Jesse Hill, Independence, Mo., Lettie Deckard, Kansas City, Mo., and Oma Phillips, Kansas City, Kansas; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 5 half-sisters.  His parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother preceded him in death.
 He professed a hope in Christ about 50 years ago and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He attended church whenever possible.  He was a loving feather and was loved by all who knew him.
 Rev. J.D. Gilliam conducted funeral services Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jones & Son Funeral Home.  Burial followed in the Hill Cemetery under direction of Jones & Son.
