Lydia Angline Gaunt Lydia Angline Gaunt was born near Long Lane, Mo., Aug. 19, 1877, and entered into rest after six weeks of illness at her home 3 miles south of Buffalo, July 2, 1946. She was 68 years, 10 months, and 17 days of age. She was a daughter of Washington and Nancy Hill. On Feb. 11, 1894, she was united in marriage to Foster Gaunt. Her entire life was lived in Dallas county. In early life she obeyed the gospel and united with the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist church, later moving her membership to New Prospect. She lived a devoted Christian life. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved companion; 6 sisters, Mrs. Will Blankenship of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. C. D. Gaunt and Mrs. G. L. Christian and Mrs. W. F. Triplett of Long Lane, and Mrs. Ressie Cheek of Independence, Mo., (one sister, Mrs. Stella Harrell, being deceased); 11 children, Mrs. Alma Bradley, Mrs. Alta McDaniel of Long Lane, Mrs. Pansy Richerson, Buffalo, Mrs. Maude Russell of Galena, Kan., Mrs. Daisy Richerson, Santa Paula, Calif., Mrs. Anna Gann, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Jewell Rose, Kansas City, Kan., Everett Gaunt, Buckner, Mo., Clarence Gaunt of Elkland, and Paul Gaunt of Buffalo; one half-broher, W. C. Hill, of Buffalo; 43 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Gaunt had a pleasant smile and kind word for all, and will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the pastor, Rev. Ross Carter, officiating. Burial followed in Prairie Grove cemetery by the Montgomery-Vaughan Funeral Home of Buffalo. |
