Mrs. M.M. Lemons, widow of Jason Lemons, died Friday after one hour of sickness and was buried at Benton Branch graveyard, aged 81 years and 11 days. It was one of the largest funerals ever held here. Rev. Scrivener preached the funeral. Mrs. Lemons was born in Illinois on March 9, 1819, and was married to Jason Lemons in 1834. She came to Missouri 64 years ago and settled in what is now Dallas County and has been living here ever since. They raised a family of 12 children, nine of whom survived them, 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Eight of their children were present at the funeral as follows: Sam, Jasper Newton, and John Lemons, Anna L. Coffelt, Susan Coleman, Margaret McClurg, Martha McClurg and Sarah Dame
