Mary Alice Lemons was born July 20, 1889 in Dallas County, the daughter of Charley and Emaline Gregg Patton.  She departed this life at Springfield, Missouri on January 7, 1968 at the age of 78 years, five months and seven days.
 
On November 26, 1911, she was united in marriage with Jesse F. Lemons and to this union eight children were born.  One son, Shirley, and her husband preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons; Francis of Smithville Mo and Charles of Milpitas, Ca; five daughters: Mrs. Lorene Ruhl of Springfield, Lois of Springfield, Mrs. Lula Fisher of Anahein, Ca, Mrs. Maxine Howe of Buffalo, Virginia of Kansas City, Mo,; three brothers: Elmer Patton of Windyville, Francis Patton of Buffalo and Elbert Patton of Halltown, Mo; three sisters: Susie Wilson of Windyville, Alma Kahler and Ada Warner both of Marshall, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.
 
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 10, 1968 at 2:00 in the Montgomery Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Miller officiating.  Interment was in Lone Rock Cemetery.
