Richard W. Smith
 
 Mr. Richard W. Smith, son of the late William Henry and Pricilla Isadora (Rush) Smith, was born in Long Lane, Missouri on April 15, 1908 and departed this life on Friday morning, July 24, 1992 in the St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri.  He was at the time of his passing 84 years, 5 months and 16 days of age.
 He grew up in the Long Lane area and later moved to Chicago, where he worked as a truck driver for several companies.  He retired from the Roberts Trucking Company in the early 1970's and returned to Dallas County where he lived near his brother, Neil.
 He was united in marriage to Mabel Perryman in Dallas County in the late 1920's and to this union was born one daughter, who survives him.  He was later married to Rosetta Kowlsky and they lived together near Buffalo until her passing.
 He loved his Lord adn Savior and was of the Christian faith.  He enjoyed visiting with people of all his life and was a great storysteller.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Rosetta, three brothers: Charley, Francis, and Clifford Smith, and two sisters: Mildred and Mabel Simth.  He is survived by his daughter: Betty Depner of Chatsworth, CA, one brother and sister-in-law: Neil and Margaret Smith of Buffalo, one step-son: Gerry Kowlsky of the state of Florida, one stepdaughter: Robertta Altier of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, four step-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and their friends and relatives who will sadly miss him.
 Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Skunday, July 26, 1992 in the Cantlon Chapel with the Rev. William Longman officiating.  Mr. Frank pato sang "The Old rugged Cross" and "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder," accompanied by Mrs. Jeannie Pato, organist.
 Escorts were David Hostetler, Bill Smith, Ralph Norman, Mike Smith, Steve Halsey, Randy Patty.
 Interment was in the Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Funeral Home of Buffalo, Missouri.
